Robert – Get Your Head Out of Your Own Arse

I have never felt so much anger towards a particular footballer in all my life. Laurent Robert is really annoying me.

I am writing my views, then I have to leave it an hour, calm down, come back and read it again, making sure I haven’t gone over the top. I then need to give it to another publisher just to make sure I won’t offend anybody (expect Robert) with my anger towards him. I have to keep it clean…and its hard.

The guy is just creating trouble. WE DON’T CARE WHAT YOU THINK!

Technically, he’s still a Toon player until 1st July, and as far as I’m concerned, that day cannot come quick enough.

I don’t see him as a Newcastle player. It makes me feel sick that someone so egotistical, so up their own arse and so selfish, could ever have pulled on a black and white strip and kicked a ball while representing Newcastle United F.C

Now I won’t for a minute claim he was useless. That would be vindictive, and untrue. He has talent, and he did some top quality stuff for us. He scored some absolutely magical goals that will go down as some of the greatest Toon goals in history.

But he got lazy. He didn’t track back often enough, leaving the left-back often one-on-two. Remember the semi-final against Manchester United? We got hammered 4-1 and as painful it is to remember, it’s a point that needs bringing up.

United did a lot of attacking from their right-wing. Robert was NOT helping out at the back at all, leaving Babayaro one-on-two with Ronaldo and Gary Neville. Babayaro never stood a chance and that’s one of the reasons we went out.

But, despite all the good and bad stuff, Robert and Souness did not get along. They are both fiery characters and therefore disagreed over many things. But Robert’s job was to do what he was told, not constantly moan and disrupt team harmony.

Anyway, he’s going now. Not our problem. But STILL he continues to be a total egotistical git. Go away you cocky, lazy sod. Just leave the club alone because we don’t want to hear what you think.

It MAY BE true. Souness MAY walk around slamming doors. He MAY have dropped Robert just to spite him. For all we know, Robert may have been, hand on heart, telling the truth. He still does not need to go to the press, reveal all this and damage the club’s spirit and name. We are in the papers for the wrong reasons AGAIN. Cheers Robert.

He’s totally unprofessional. And the way he thought Souness left him on the bench to spite him had me half laughing in fits, half shaking with anger. Souness played “kids” instead of world-class Robert to annoy him? Nothing to do with your total lack of commitment? Nothing to do with your laziness? Nothing to do with the fact these “kids” are playing their hearts out and actually give a damn about somebody but themselves?

He cannot control his mouth. He just cannot stop feeling sorry for himself. Souness can be accused of having a bad temper and all the rest, but what was his response to Robert’s rants and raves. - “I wish Robert all the best”.

Punished the whole team by leaving you out? Im sure the left-back was happy he had some help. Im sure the strikers were happy we had someone who could reach the bloody byline.

How, in anyway, shape or form, does calling Souness a child, saying you laughed at him, saying he has a lack of intelligence help ANYBODY?!?

Souness may have his fans and critics; he may not be the best manager in the world. But at least he can claim respect. He’s not something that I look at like something on the bottom of my shoe like I now do you Robert. You’re a disgrace to the team Newcastle United. You laughed at Souness? Well I’m sure others have done too, but I’m also confident that a load more are laughing at you. Laughing at the way you think you’re a world beater.

Not get your head out of your own arse, pack your bags and **** off down south. I don’t want to hear from you again.
