There have been rumours floating around that Liverpool and Newcastle United are both chasing Deportivo striker, Albert Luque.

The 27-year-old is a pacey attacking threat who would appear to be a good replacement for Craig Bellamy, and also has aerial abilities.

With Bellamy likely to be leaving, Newcastle will be left with only 2 senior strikers, Shearer and Ameobi, next season which will not be good enough to qualify for Europe.

The striker, who also can play left wing, says he is aware of offers for him, but pledged his future to Deportivo.

Luque said:

"There is plenty of talk about offers, but for now I am a Depor player."

"The senior team is being reinforced well with new signings and I welcome the competition. I don't care where the new coach plays me, if it's on the left flank, great, or as a second striker, it doesn't concern me."
