Report: Town 1-0 BCFC

By Aston
January 1 2007

Town started the new year in the best possible fashion, beating table-topping Birmingham 1-0 at Portman Road earlier today.

On paper it may look fluke but Town easily created enough chances to be out of sight within the first 30 minutes with Gary Roberts hitting the bar and two chances cleared off the line and Billy Clarke being denied by a great Maik Taylor save.

Nicklas Bendtner had the best chance for the visitors when he hit the bar with his header.

With a draw looking likely Gavin Williams was left unmarked in the box and was able to get on the end of Gary Roberts’s cross and fire home.
