Report: Saints 1-0 Town

Town slipped to their sixth consecutive defeat with out scoring a goal after losing 1-0 against Southampton earlier today.

It took less then a minute for Town to go behind, Matt Richards brought down Djamel Belmadi and the referee awarded a free kick, Gareth Bale provided the delivery and Marek Saganowski headed home.

 

Town had a couple of chances to level the score but couldn’t beat Kelvin Davis, leaving Town just 4 points above the drop zone.

 

Southampton: Davis, Makin, Baird, Lundekvam, Bale, Belmadi (Pele 76), Wright, Viafara, Surman, Jones, Saganowski (Wright-Phillips 83).
Subs Not Used: Bialkowski, Rasiak, Dyer.
