Ipswich Town kept their second clean sheet of the campaign and continued to be undefeated at the Walkers stadium following a 0-0 draw with Leicester City today.

Leicester went on the offensive right from the start with Joey Gudjonsson forcing Lewis Price into action from the edge of the penalty box.

It took Town 11 minutes to when Kevin Horlock swung a free kick into the box which Richard Naylor got his head onto but didn’t manage to get enough on it to head it goalwards instead sending it wide.

Town captain Jim Magilton tried to break the deadlock from 25-yards but his effort was matched by Rab Douglas in the Leicester Goal, Jim’s effort seemed to be the inspiration for David Connolly who tried something similar soon after with a similar result.

Lewis Price made his final save of the game just before the half hour mark when he caught Mark de Vries’ effort 18-yard effort, Price had to limp off five minutes after making that because of a knee injury.

Lewis’ replacement Shane Supple was called into action just a few minutes after coming on, Mark de Vries again providing the opposition when he headed Gareth William’s free-kick goalward, but Supple was more than up to the challenge.

Nicky Forster fired wide in the closing stages of the half while at the other end Danny Tiatto’s cross into the box was caught by Supple as the referee blew for half time.

Town started the second half on the back foot with David Connolly, Gareth Williams and Dion Dublin all having chances to give the home side the lead before Town had even had an effort on goal.

Right after the restart Connolly connected with a Momo Sylla cross only to head into the hand of Supple, Williams was next to test the ‘keeper when he tried his luck from long range, Williams tried again just before the hour when he volleyed Alan Maybury’s cross from the edge of the area only for Supple to Parry and then substitute Dion Dublin headed into Supple arms.

Ian Westlake tried his luck in the 70th minute but his effort was easily held by Douglas, Darren Currie could have won the game for Town in the 84th minute with a free-kick but Douglas managed to hold to it.

David Connolly and Danny Tiatto both missed the target in the final minutes so both teams ended with a point
