Well the promotion roadshow is 'en route. Today Hartlepool United showed why they are one of the promotion favourites. After one match we are TOP OF THE LEAGUE.

And didn't the new away strip look good.

Pools started where they left off last season. After the disappointment of Cheltenham, Pools came out today looking as if they meant it.

A goal either side of half time the first from Humphries after 43 minutes which was followed up after the break by Mark Tinkler on 47 pretty much ended the game as a contest. From then on it was exhibition stuff up to when Tinkler added a third on 71 minutes.

Pools were waken up a little when Paul Arnision lost the ball in midfield to allow Brian Wake through to place his shot to the right of the flapping Tony Williams.

A good all round performance from Pools who were clearly the better team by some margin. I'm starting to believe that this really is our year.
Every season there is one team that is head and shoulders above the rest. Last year it was Plymouth and previously Brighton. Before that it was Rotherham. Well this time it's lloking like it could be us.

Carlisle showed signs that they won't be in the bottom two come May. Their no. 10 Molloy looked useful and one or two other showed potential. The 9000 Carlisle supporters have reason to be optimistic I feel sure that they'll not be too far away from the play-offs.
