This festival of Club Rugby comprising of the "Big Four" London clubs Wasps, Saracens London Irish and apart from when they got relegated and replaced by Leeds Carnegie, Harlequins has been the curtain opener to the Rugby Union season in England since it was first staged in 2004 when Saracens beat Wasps by 2 points and Irish bettered the Quins by 6.
In the 11 games Wasps have contested they have only won 4, once against Quins and 3 times against Saracens with a entertaining 29-29 draw with Harlequins in 2010.
With the World Cup being played in England later this year the LDH was never on the calender but what awaits us the following year with Wasps firmly entrenched in the West Midlands? Will another club be invited to take our place? Will Wasps take part but, as Harlequins do each year insist we are the away team? or will this popular money spinner that has attracted average crowds of over 50,000 people disappear into the archives?
I'm sure many of the Wasps supporters who reside in the south east would love a late summer showpiece at Twickenham as would the hordes of once a season spectators that turn up and amuse themselves with Mexican waving but me? nah I prefer the Ricoh and will only venture down to HQ when Wasps are there for a cup or Premiership final where our win ratio is far better than the Double Header.
What's your thoughts, happy to see it confined to History or resurrected in 2016?

As much as I understand some peoples dislike for it, I usually enjoy my day at Twickenham for the double header and will be sad to see it go (if indeed it does)
This years double header was an exception. The manner of the defeat, and the fact that we were the first game, left me so deflated that I drove home before the 2nd game even started.
I don't really understand peoples hatred of the mexican wave either. I generally don't join in, but the main fact is that fans are at HQ, they're enjoying themselves, and the wave isn't a sign of boredom, it's just another piece of entertainment.
That's what the double header is to many. It's a hugely entertaining day out, that if anything reminds me more of when rugby was amateur and singing some dirty songs and drinking lots of beer was often more important than what was happening on the pitch.
I'm with Stevie. LDH is a great day out, and as one of the "left behind" in Kent from Ricoh move, my nearest game now (or maybe the Stoop shaves it by 200m).
If Wasps decline, be interesting to see how 3 teams make it a day.
Yep I'm on board with the double header as well. It's a great day out - always love going to Twickenham. It would be great if it was either vs LI or a home game so I can still get to the quins and sarries away games.
I understand Wasps may be at the double header, but as the away team only. I would be glad to see the back of it, as I never enjoyed the occasion. Twickenham in my opinion should be saved for England & finals.
Just as Wasps need to make the best use of the Ricoh to maximise revenue, so do the RFU with Twickenham. Just using it for internationals and finals would be a massive waste of resources even if you add in extras like the Army v Navy and varsity matches and a bit of sevens.
And I'm sorry but Mexican waves are definitely a sign of boredom. They only ever materialise during breaks in play or while watching Sarries!
Choppers I understand Wasps may be at the double header, but as the away team only. I would be glad to see the back of it, as I never enjoyed the occasion. Twickenham in my opinion should be saved for England & finals.
This was mentioned at the last supporters panel meeting and it is still on the table as choppers says .... The teams are discussing if it will work. Won't happen his year because of the RWC.
I don't know why but I really hate the Mexican Wave. I suspect it has something to do with people acting like a "herd" but then I suppose when we sing Swing Low we are doing just the same. Nowt as queer as folk!!!!
Given it will not happen this year because of the RWC, I think it's safe to say that will be the end of it - and I certainly won't miss it - and if I ever see a Mexican wave at another Wasps game . . .

I don't partake of the Mexican wave, but don't really object to it, what I do hate though, is the Twickenham crowd's ability to only sing one chorus of "Swing Low" and nothing more. It's not a hard song to learn FFS!
I enjoy the Double Header.
It is a fun day out, an opportunity to chat with other fans and I like the atmosphere - plus 2 games for the price of one and an exciting start to the season. I always looked forward to the LDH.
Also, from a selfish point of view, as a London based Wasps supporter who will now only see them at away games (Quins, Irish, Welsh, Bath, maybe ERCC games) it would be nice to see them play another game that I can easily attend.
Really don't mind going to the Stoop, but I'm damned if I'm paying Sorries good money to sit half a mile away from a lurid green bouncy castle of a pitch. Stick to HQ if we have to do it or hold a midlands double header at the Ricoh with Saints, Tiggers and Wuss (if they come back up).
Not that any of them would agree to it... ho hum.
I like the LDH and as a London based supported would prefer us to be involved down here.
I wonder if the premiership/TV companies would commission 2 double headers to open the season-one with the 3 remaining london clubs + 1, the other with the midlands based clubs (loose definitions of midlands).
Trev's Big Tackle How about Wasps v whoever double header with Cov RFC against whoever they're playing. Could attempt to make the fixtures against other midlands teams in each division but doesn't have to be.
