Kenya Quins Roundup: 25th August 2005

With the disappointment of the 2005 Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup behind us, Quins have moved preparations for the 7s circuit into high gear. The 7s circuit is: Kisumu 7s (17 & 18 Sept); Kabeberi 7s in Nairobi, then Driftwood in Mombasa and finally our own Christie 7s is on the cards next.

The Sevens coach Gordon Anampiu with his Technical team (Tom Odundo, Edward Kinyany and Felix Ochieng) and Team Manager Allan Khakame have named a squad of 33 players which trains every Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays. This Squad will be whittled down to 24 for the entire duration of the circuit. The squad comprises: Peter Abuoga*, Billy Ayodo, Sidney Ashioya*, Bakari Toyya, Caesar Ondula, Cyrus Omondi, Eddie Odhiambo*, Fervent Thumbi*, Joash Odhalo*, Jude Thumbi*, George Karanu*, Kennedy Gikaru, Joel Kinaro, Leon Adongo, Allan Makaka*, Martin Likami, David Mogere, Joel Nganga*, Daniel Ngonga, Edward Kinyany, Eric Osinde, Patrick Onyango, Tito Oduk*, Romain Malejacq (Fra), Francis Rono, Sean Omondi*, Ted Omondi*, Thomas Leberton (Fra), Felix Ochieng*, Kiragu Ngunya, Kenneth Kiprop, Ernest Waweru*, Kevin Matubutu, Allan Onyango. (*denotes that player has played respresentative rugby at either senior 15's, 7's or under 21 level). This group are determined to make a clean sweep of all four tournaments. We wish them luck. The Quins Queens (Double Q) have also resumed training as there will be ladies competitions side by side the mens. Let's give them our support and see them bring trophies home.

On the other hand through Quinzone we will be ordering for Quins replica shirts in the next one week. These will be for Adults (both men and women) as well as kids. Those members/fans/well wishers interested in buying the replica shirts please contact Herbert Mwachiro or Thomas Odundo. Using this email to order is also good enough. Please let as many people know. The cost of each shirt will be Kshs 5,500. A percentage of this will go towards the players fund for the Sevens. If you would like personalisation with your name and or a number on the shirts please indicate so and this will be done at no extra cost. Full deposit required with confirmation of order as deadline for this is WEDNESDAY 31st AUGUST 2002.
