Kenya 7s: Round 3: Driftwood Sevens, Mombasa

The Sunny beaches at the Coast await the defending Champions of the Driftwood Tournament Kenya Harlequin. Quins won the tournament last year when they defeated KCB 12 -7 in a pulsating final.

This year Quins seeded second for this tournament are going flat out to retain their title. Training has been intense under coach Gordon Anampiu and his consultant Tom Odundo and the team has been responding well since their "loss" in the last round. This time Quins will only travel with one side to Mombasa and to show that they mean business the squad has already been named with one training session to go on Thursday.

Quins are currently joint top of the Sevens standings but with 8 less tries than their main rivals Impala. The race to the finish line gets even more exciting. Good Luck Quins.

Day One

On the more humane front, let us keep in mind a very strong Quins supporter Gordon Argo (now based in Pakistan). Gordon had an accident last week and we wish him a speedy recovery. Gordon is the father to Quins Physio Bonnie Argo.

To our rivals Impala, we mourn with one of their key players Zedi Akwanyi who lost his dear wife early this week. May the Good Lord rest her soul in peace and be with him in this difficult times.
