Top-seeded Jelena Dokic beat Russia's Tatiana Panova 6-2 6-2 to win the Sarasota Open.

Dokic didn't drop a set in five singles matches during the tournament, played on green clay. It was her first title of 2002, and the fourth of her career.

Dokic also teamed up with Russia's Elena Likhovtseva to defeat Conchita Martinez of Spain and Els Callens of Belgium 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 6-3 for the doubles title.

But he claims to be on the mend - and is looking forward to competing in the ATP Masters Series event in Monte Carlo.

He told his website: "The neck injury which sidelined me in Miami has almost disappeared and I was able to resume my off-court training on Friday.

"I'm starting my clay court preparations on Tuesday in readiness from my first tournament on the 'dirt' - at Monte Carlo."
