Wolves welcome back Tottenham Hotspur to Molineux today in a 2pm kick off. The corresponding fixture last year, shown on Sky (unlike today), was a strange affair and not necessarily in a good way. After Spurs stormed into a 3-0 lead, Wolves scored two second half penalties from different players (Neves and Jimenez) to make the last 10 minutes unexpectedly exciting! To no avail as we lost 2-3. A bit of revenge for Wolves today then? Perhaps, however getting onto the front foot early will be vital to thwart a Spurs side who have picked up 6 points from 3 league matches with Mourinho at the helm. Spurs played extremely well last week v Burnley, though found it tougher v Manchester United and Bayern Munich. Whilst Spurs will definitely be looking for all 3 points, this is one Wolves can win too.
Wolves come off the back of a very competent 4-0 win versus Besiktas last Thursday, when a number of players were 'rested' (albeit with a familiar core), the clear highlight being an irresistable 11-minute second half hat-trick from Diogo Jota. Added to that, we have now gone 11 matches unbeaten in the premier league, amassing 21 points - our best topflight run since Aug - Sept 1962. Whilst not tempting fate or being smug, it is a record to be proud of, nevertheless we all know Spurs will be tough today, as will Nuno and the lads, and record runs alone count for nothing at kick off. By the way, our last defeat? 14th Sept 2019 Wolves 2-5 Chelsea.
My chosen Match Thread photo is from Spurs versus Wolves at Wembley last season - a reminder that anything is possible with this Wolves side ... if indeed we needed reminding?! I was so lucky to be there (not today alas) to witness one of our league season highlights from 2018/19. After a first half Kane thunderbolt, we turned it around by producing one of the best 45s of away football seen in recent years by a Wolves side and was simply superb. Three goals from Boly, Jimenez and Costa gave us a fully deserved 3-1 victory ..... if Wolves get anywhere near that level today, we're in for a cracking match!
Enjoy the game, we ecourage comments and contributions in this thread as the match progresses, twists and turns.
UP THE WOLVES!

Have a feeling that this game won’t be short on goals so hoping that we are able to outgun the opposition. Could well be Adamas day, should have the beating of the pedestrian Spurs defenders.
Just hoping that we get off to a steady start and don’t give ourselves a mountain to climb as we so often do.
We have played really well as part of an excellent game so far, and don't really deserve to be trailing, but it was a very well taken goal by Lucas Moura and Rui stood no chance. It's almost as though Spurs are paying us at our own game, letting us have possession and planning to score on the counter attack, knowing they have the firepower to do so. We were let off when Kane hit the post after a fine lobbed pass from that cheating tw4t Ali!!
A fantastic high octane first half, mainly from Wolves. A brilliant goal from Lucas Mora the difference. And that is the difference, decisive play in the final 3rd and clinical finishing. Still plenty of positives for Wolves
I said it would take a Neves special or similar and that's exactly what we got!! Nothing less than we deserve.
Jonny was booked for a foul on Moura, now Aldewerald is booked for a foul on Adama. Wolves fans are in great voice
Great interception from Leander to stop a long ball reaching Ali. Adama clashes with Dier and is still down in their area. Leander pushes Kane over and gets a yellow card. Moura replaced by Christian Erikson who will take their free kick just outside our area
All over and Spurs have snatched the three points with a late header from one of their few corners. We did nearly all the attacking and deserved at least the point that Traore's superb goal was earning us. a superb match to watch and a shame to see our unbeaten run brought to a close in the rain.
Daylight robbery! Played really well and outplayed spurs nearly all game. Shame we switched off for their winner we didn't deserve to get nothing from the game. Gutted but happy with our performance but if you switch off for a split second against a quality team you are going to get punished. Ref atwell had his usuall poor game again! Unlucky today wolves, we will play a lot worse than that and win.
Great match to watch and we looked really comfortable on the ball, almost telepathic with some of our passing. Moutinho really showed his class today, so lucky to have him. Outplayed Spurs and should have taken at least a point but it’s a cruel game, like Angry says, fine margins. But we have a team we can be proud of and they seem to be getting better with each passing game.
It was a great match where we did everything right except hitting the back of the net as much as we should have and momentarily switching off for their second. I’d even go so far as saying it was enjoyable but maybe that is a step too far given the final score. I am absolutely gutted. I followed proceedings with one of my Spurs supporting friends - who got me a ticket at Wembley last year - and he was overjoyed with a bit of revenge, though bemused as to how they actually won it? I regretfully credit them with some very solid and stoic defending.
Fine margins true enough, lack of finishing a factor too, but some of the stuff we played was excellent and a pleasure to watch. Not just counter attacking but also meaningful build ups with some very decent football. How we even went in down at HT , I will never know. I was impressed in how we started the second half too. High energy and if ever any team deserved an equaliser, well it was us. The Traore strike was sweet, though he was subject to a fair bit of second half treatment ..... again. I agree about Moutinho Lupinehowler. Everything he did on and off the ball was excellent.
