CC1 Happy Grockles Day!! Glamorgan at Taunton
Welcome to the penultimate CC1 game of the season. it seems today is the day when Grockles users who are not in the vicinity most of the time or work for a living are meeting up at the ground to watch a bit of cricket together. First I knew about it but Yay!! The weather cold be better but we do start almost on time. The clouds are grey and rain is in the air. Somerset won the toss and have put Glamorgan in with Goldsworthy joining the XI picked for Hove in the place of Ball who was in for Shaw.
-
CC1 v Sussex at Hove
Sussex have won the toss and will bowl first and we are startying on time. No Jake Ball today. Josh Shaw comes in as the third seam bowler and Lewis Gregory will captain. Not sure yet whether he will bowl but one would assume he will. Craig Overton also comes back and Lewis Goldsworthy misses out from the eleven. There was a predicted thunderstorm in the early morning today but the rain has gone away and though it might be a bit moist it is a sunny morning in Hove.

Early days of Autumn
I’ve waited a few days before writing this. Sometimes it’s better to allow thoughts to gestate. Tuesday night’s game against Rotherham still represents a major improvement in the way we are playing. The result could be very important for us by the end of the season.

Italian GP: Qualifying sees Williams F1 Team still struggle
Despite being a well executed session the Atlassian Williams F1 Team still struggled in qualifying for the 2026 Italian GP. It all comes down to the fundamental performance issues that the team still faces with the FW48. Alex Albon would go into the session knowing that he would be facing a drop to the rear of the grid due to engine penalties so Alex did his best to assist Carlos Sainz make it into Q2 by helping him with a tow down the long Monza straights. As a result Carlos would finish in 15th but with other penalties he will start Sunday's race from 13th, Alex will start 22nd. The team had been focusing on their race performance so hopeully they can fight with the midfield on Sunday.

Italian GP: Positive Friday for Atlassian Williams F1 Team
The two Friday practice sessions for the 2026 Italian GP would see the Atlassian Williams F1 Team finish with Alex Albon in 16th and Carllos Sainz 17th. It was a day that both drivers would have to do their best given the limitations of the FW48. Joining the team in FP1 was Academy driver Luke Browning who was to take over Alex's car for the session. Luke's job was to provide the team with feedback and would do a respectable job.
