Pollock keeps options open as Saints talks continue

This isn't directly related to us - but some rumours suggest we have an interest Henry Pollock continues to play hardball in his negotiations over a Northampton Saints contract extension, insisting he is still open to offers from elsewhere, including overseas, and that he remains determined to be "quite selfish" over his future.
PRE-SEASON ROUND 3: A GLASGOW KISS?

Many years ago my then boss was, amongst other things, a grizzled veteran of many seasons of rugby played at a reasonably high level. I mentioned a game that he was due to play on Sunday of that weekend and naively suggested that it should be a fairly easy recreational run out. Quick as a flash he snarled that "there's no such thing as expletive deleted "Sunday rugby"! His meaning was clear; every game requires the same positive mindset and to a certain extent the term "friendly" as applied to pre-season games is a similar misnomer. It'll be played in great spirit, but "friendly" is not necessarily the first term that comes to mind as we go head-to-head (hopefully not literally despite my opening title) against Glasgow Warriors this Friday at Old Anniesland.

And so we move into the end of the Championship. If we are to win this thing then this game will tell us what to do in the last home game next week. 3 games will effect the situation, we have control over only one as we meet Yorkshire at Headingley. Lewis Goldsworthy misses out to Archie Vaughan and Jake Ball is chosen instead of Josh Shaw. The rest of the side is the one that took Leicestershire down in 2 and a half days. Yorkshire won the toss and will take to the crease first.
Women's Metrobank 50 Surrey - Next 'Must Win'

The path to silverware comes like this. Beat Surrey today at the Oval. The beat Hampshire at Southamptonin the 'Eliminator' next Wednesday. Then beat Notts at the same place in the Final. Simples. The path starts today with a game in London. Win and we go on, lose and an excellent season ends at that point. Hope Springs eternal. Liv Barnes returns in stead of Jazz Westley today.
Women's Metrobank Must Win v Lancashire

The Women have two games left to get into a position to go forward into a semi final and a possible place in the Final of the One Day Cup in Southampton in about a fortnight's time. Both our Somerset sides could be in a trophy final stages in the last week of the season. But the women have to win both games to be certain and may still need Warwickshire to mess up along the way. You can only do what you can do and each game left in the season counts. We face Lancashire at Taunton today in what could be Kate Cross's last professional match of a phenomenal career. Sophie luff has won the toss and elected to field first. The ground looks ready so we seem to be starting on time

Spanish GP: Another tough race for Williams F1 Team

The Atlassian Williams F1 Team would come away from the Madring having seen just one of their cars finish the 2026 Spanish GP, that of Alex Albon finishing in 15th. The other car of Carlos Sainz would retire in the pits after having struggled the race with damage after T1 contact. On top of this Carlos would receive a 5 second penalty for an incident involving Alonso. It was another tough race for the team and drivers as they continue to struggle with the FW48. Hopefully in the next race at Baku the team will see some improvements with the arrival of an upgraded car. Both Alex and Carlos are keen to see the updated cars arrival.
Spanish GP: Scrappy qualifying for Williams F1 Team

Qualifying for the 2026 Spanish GP was what was descibed by their drivers as both scrappy and tough the Atlassian Williams F1 Team would see Alex Albon make it into Q2 finishing in 16th while teammate Carlos Sainz was one place behind in 17th. Both drivers would have their own issues that impacted their qualifying efforts with the smallest of margins between the pair in Q1 yet Alex would make it into Q2 and Carlos didn't. So very frustrating but both drivers are going to work to achieve a good result. For Carlos he will start from 20th after receiving a penalty for impeding. This is going to make their task that much harder.
Spanish GP: Challenging Friday for Williams F1 Team

Friday practice for the 2026 Spanish GP was a challenging day for the Atlassian Williams F1 Team as we would see Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon finish in 16th and 18th. Both drivers would enjoy the new Madring circuit but at the end of the day the team was overall not very competitive as both Carlos and Alex continued to struggle with the weaknesses of the FW48. Whether the team can make some progress going into Saturday is far from certain. But there is still a lot of work to do for the team and hopefully the team can make some steps forward.
