The loss of Manni and especially Roots cannot be underestimated they are top quality, but injuries are part and parcel of the modern game. As long as we give it a good go and attack with ball in hand that’s all we can ask, yes we are massive underdogs but this season has been a fantastic watch and you never know…….. I can’t wait to be there tomorrow it should be a great occasion. Having Greg and Ross available is a plus.
Please let the best side win without too much interference from the officials, and hopefully no cards.
Bath 36 Chiefs 31 think home advantage may be the deciding factor.

Hold our own in the set piece and limit the penalties, stay on the right side of the ref and we could win. A tough ask. They are without Russell and I think if we get enough decent possession our backs could win the match . I expect a very nervous watch - Bath 29 Cheifs 32

They're missing Russell and Pepper, which is a glimmer of hope.
And I dont think that Carreras goal kicking is anywhere near as good as sladey .
Those could be important factors.

Bath fan in Peace - Wishing you all a safe journey up to us tomorrow. Whatever the result tomorrow (obviously I want us to win) there will be a justified West Country presence in the final and hopefully West Country Champions.
I know if you triumph tomorrow I will be cheering you on in the final. Hoping for a great Game.

Looking at the teams there is not much between them, until you get to the bench, where they definitely have the advantage.
Winning away from home is always difficult, especially in the playoffs. Bath haven't been at their best recently, I do worry it could all click for them though. I'm also worried about another Quins type performance, where the shifts the players have put in catches up with them. Roots and Manny are a big loss but then missing Finn is huge for them.
Personally I just can't see us doing it, stats just don't favour the away team. Hopefully though, the players can put in a shift and keep it tight, then you never know!! Also, hope the result is decided by the players with no cards.
I'm going Bath 32 Chiefs 21 let's hope I'm hideously wrong!! If we do run out of energy and put in a Quins type performance then we could be on the end of a thrashing! I obviously hope that's not the case and we give it a real good go.

Do I expect us to win? No
Do I think we can win? Absolutely yes.
It's a big ask.
Stats and history against us but there are exceptions that prove the rule and we have confidence and form to carry in to this game as well as 2 good performances against Bath this season.
Pressure and expectation are with them.
The weather should be in our favour.
A dry track to make their pack run around a bit and test their fitness.
Win or lose,no regrets just give it your best shot lads which I know we will.

Much as I hate to say it I think the strength in depth of the Bath squad as epitomised in their bench for this match is probably going to get them over the line. However if it is close in the last 10, then I think we might sneak it with our superior fitness. The bomb squad achieved almost naff all at SP.
However being realistic Bath by 8 points.

Stats say... @#$%& all! 😄. How many from that 15% were wins where teams were in ascension, playing higher placed sides going through a fallow period? I don't know, but that's why we love it so much! COYC!

I’ve found that if I always predict: Chiefs 31; Opposition 26, it seems to stand me in pretty good stead, and it also saves the effort of thinking about my prediction. In essence it’s the equivalent of a low cost tracker fund v a posh stock-picker fund…!

Perspective - well, what a day at The Rec, some of the best last ditch defence that has been seen in some time though why Bath did not go for the drop goal is beyond me.
Next week, the final. Mmmmm - Saints will probably score at least four tries, it’s what they do. But the table toppers also concede a lot of points so it’s game on !

Lots been said about going for the drop goal but I reckon 99 times out of 100, when Bath get within 5 metres, their pick and go strategy results in a try - until Saturday!
