Bristol Shoguns ban Julian White for 14 days

The Bristol Evening Post indicated that the club would not be taking any action against Julian White but a 14 day ban has been announced after an internal hearing. Here is the official club press release.

White Receives 14 day Suspension from Bristol Shoguns

Following an internal disciplinary meeting Bristol Shoguns has suspended England international prop Julian White for 14 days (with immediate effect from Mon 30 Sept).

The 14-day club suspension follows White's involvement in a fracas with Leicester Tigers players in the opening minutes of Sunday's 25-20 Zurich Premiership victory.

Referee Chris White gave the Shoguns prop forward a red card in the third minute of the fixture for alleged use of the head on Leicester's Graham Rowntree.

Commenting on the official Bristol Shoguns website, head coach Peter Thorburn said: "The 14 day suspension was a decision made internally at Bristol Shoguns."

The RFU has given a provisional date of Tuesday 8 October for White's hearing. Peter Thorburn and his coaching staff will continue their ongoing investigations into the incident in the lead up to next week's hearing.

Bristol Shoguns will not be making any further comment on the incident until the completion of the RFU hearing.
