Felipe wins the Player of the Month award

Felipe Contepomi has been named Supporters Club Player of the Month for October. I'm sure it will prove to be a very popular choice as Felipe is a real crowd favourite at the Memorial Stadium.

Amazingly, in all the time that Felipe has been at the club, this is the first time that he has been awarded the Supporters Club Player of the Month Award.

Incredible when you think that he scored almost 350 points last season and is nearing the 150 point mark this season.

Maybe it reflects the fact there are occasions when, like this month, he is absent on international duty?

However, no-one can deny that it is a richly deserved award and a very timely one when you consider the unselfish way that he and Gus flew back between internationals to face Newcastle and offered to return to face Bath within 24 hours of taking on Ireland.

As it turned, he and Gus sat on the bench without being required but I'm sure that both would have entered the fray at the drop of a hat - in Felipe's case, a very unique looking hat!

Well done Felipe! The presentation date and time are to be confirmed.

November's choice will be an interesting one as well. The games to be taken into account are Sale (a), Newcastle (h), London Irish (h) and Bath (a). I think there are going to be several contenders and Supporters Club chairman, David Higgs, may well have to deliver a casting vote!
