Arch and Emi appeal against yellow cards

Having failed in an appeal last week, Garath Archer hasn't been disheartened and is appealing against his 2nd yellow card of the season. Emi Bergamaschi is also appealing against his sinbinning against London Irish.

Arch has received two yellow cards in recent weeks having been a paragon of virtue in the early months of the season.

He was sinbinned away at Sale for allegedly overdoing the footwork at a ruck. He was then shown a yellow card away at Bath after a scuffle on the ground with John Mallett.

This means that he's received 3 yellow cards in a 12 month period and a one match ban is in the pipeline. Only last week, he had an appeal against the Sale yellow card dismissed at an RFU hearing. The outcome of this one will determine whether he can face Swansea at St Helens on Thursday.

Emiliano has only received the one yellow card this season and that was a pretty bizarre one. He was sinbinned by Robin Goodliffe after the team committed a series of offences.

However, he was singled out when he appeared to be trapped at the bottom of a ruck minding his own business. The West Stand enclosure were livid, the Evening Post couldn't understand it and, evidently, the club must have seen enough on the match video to lodge an appeal.

The RFU have confirmed that both players will have their appeals heard on Thursday at the Newbury North Hilton Hotel
