Friday nights for Sale

It made a brief appearance in January and last month, but now Friday night rugby is well and truly here to stay with us at Sale. Season ticket holders have received letters explaining that Sale will be playing their home games on Fridays next season.

We need more people through the gates each week and just recently Brian Kennedy despairingly said:

"We have no real future on gates which are the lowest in the Premiership because the economics do not add up."

So this is a new initiative to capture a slice of the market that would not come to Saturday games - most likely because they are at football matches. It will be a major inconvenience to some people but others will welcome the change -season ticket holder John Braide of Bramhall said:

"It's good for me because it means I can go running with Tally-ho on Saturdays."

This change will not be without initial monetary outlay - Sale will have to upgrade the floodlights at Heywood Road!
