We support Gigg Lane move
Gigg Lane

This week's poll asked whether you think Sale should move to Gigg Lane in Bury. 108 people voted and if you think that there has been a lot of negativity about the move, the results might be surprising.
For a majority of respondants said yes, Sale should play at Gigg Lane. 54% thought it was a good idea, while only 40% were definitely against it and 6% had not made up their minds.
Though it is a fairly close result, the fact that the majority were actually in favour of moving ground indicates that we are not as inflexible and negative as might first appear. In fact I believe that most fans want the best for the club and getting more supporters is definitely the best for the club. If that necessitates a ground move then so be it.
From the pictures I have seen of Gigg Lane it looks like a good stadium. It is not the easiest place to get to from South Manchester but is probably preferable to Warrington or Maine Road. There may still be other options; for the next season we will be playing at Heywood Road and hopefully by next spring we will know for sure where we will be heading in 2003/04.
