Yes, we are seven points adrift at the bottom of the Premiership. Yes, the Budgies have a game in hand on us. Yes, it will be a ruddy great big mountain we will have to climb and, yes, it does look impossible.

But. Thre are still six games left. Of these Sale, Exeter, Newcastle and Wasps are winable, and points could be taken from Quins and Saints.

Strange things happen in sport. You never know.

Until such time as mathematicaly we find ourselves with say one game to go and still six ponts adrift, all is not lost.

Untill that happens, I will continue to believe and hope that we can still do it!

OK Lalabobbs we are not mathematically certain to go down(I think I said that) but at what point does a reasonable (& I use that term carefully) supporter think we have had it? I suggest that point was 4.45 yesterday afternoon.

In truth I suggest that point was the full time whistle against the Budgies.

If there is no more money and we are already in debt next season will be no different to this. If we survive the message board will be identical optimists v pessimists and everybody hoping fOr Great Escape 3.
Leeds will lose most of their games meaning support won't increase we become even more short of cash and no new players - a vicious circle.
I suppose to put it bluntly I am not even sure I want to survive so that I shell out the best part of £300 to watch it all over again. I have done for the last 12 years and obviously will do so again next year whether we are playing Leicester or pirates but as Rod Stewart once sang I'd like a reason to believe.

know the feeling, ian, but twas ever thus really...'cept this time we have a £1m debt. the board speculated, as a few here have advocated over the years, yet the results haven't happened and we haven't pushed on as planned (i can't help feeling that kiwi paid the price for this). i just hope those that encouraged the investment on this mb don't now walk away from the club .

at least we won the £1m game last year ensuring full allocation and/ or the full parachute payment should we go down, so the club will be solvent. plus we have the carnegie money, etc.

i've always believed we should bring more of the youth through and have more faith in them. we lose too many to other clubs and we've signed too many 'experienced' players who haven't delivered or don't seem to put the effort in for the club. wackett geeing up the south stand when they came out yesterday and the performances of denton, craig, paul, burrell, etc tells me these youngsters really care about the club. maybe a shortage of funds will ensure we do now give the youngsters more opportunities. losing a few talented youngsters every season really annoys me.

No one is forcing Luther to go. Can't blame him though, as he didn't get a lot of starts, but I guess he is one of the "talented youngsters" that your talking about. At the end of the day, if the Carrot is big enough they would all go.

Luther was only given a one year deal. From his point, and if I were him, I would use that year to sell myself. Luther has in the past been a hit and miss player. This year when given the chance he has shown what he is capeable of. The failure to give him a longer contract is Leeds rugby's undoing. You could say the same of wackett, how many chances has he had? I appreciate fa-afili on the wing, but actually he's had very little impact. As a fan, I am quite concerned about where Leeds carnegie is heading, because we have not had a competative team for 5/6 years now, the fan base is in decline and to be honest you get a better value for your money watching Morley or even west leeds. The only draw that leeds has is the oppersition. Thats a very sad thing to say.

Bran, you mention Wackett. The reason he has not had many oportunities so fa,r could be put down to his tendancy to get injured, usualy seriously.
I'm glad he has got his chance now, as I rate him as a speedster, but, in the past he has been, IMHO, lightweight and his tackling was poor. He has, however bulked up and with that could well have improved his tackling. One for the future perhaps.
Judging on his efforts to get the crowd going in the last couple of games, his heart is in it for Leeds.

I can only recall him having a couple of injuries, I remember him getting smashed at west park a season or 2 a go. Surely injuries is all part of the game?
It just seams a waste that we lose players who go on to be good squad players elsewhere and we don't give them a go. Especially at this stage of the season where so much else has failed.
Back to injury, how come Mackay gets on the field than???
