Beware the wrath of Roth

When I think of Yorkshire Carnegie these days I am reminded of the French national team and ask myself a question. Which team is going to turn up? I think that against Rotherham, unlike Doncaster where the whole squad always seem to suffer from a Dementor’s kiss, we’ll see the passion and skills that those of us who turned up last Sunday had the pleasure to watch. And to be honest, with the exception of the home match earlier this season, we always seem ‘up’ for this fixture and we’ve had a good run of late at Clifton Lane.
So who to pull on that lovely blue shirt? Jack Walker and Paul Hill are back this week so I’d start with them, adding Charlie Beech to the front row. Harris, Nilsen and Tideswell can come off the bench when needed – but not all at once please! The drip feed of replacements works so much better than wholesale changes – the last time we saw bulk changes was against Bristol in the league and we all know what happened then.
I think we’re going to struggle for second row cover, I believe Joyce has been recalled but we do have Tom Ellis, the loanee from Bath, who can replace Jones or Smith.
My back row is Williams, Bainbridge (also back from international duty) and Burrows. It’s time Egerton and Grimoldby were given a starting berth as a pairing (as an aside Tommy gave an interesting insight into Pilgrim and Leonard at the open evening – come and ask me if you want to know) with Holmes, Lucock, and Goss behind them. I am unsure about the right wing, Doc’s back from his dead leg but I’ve a head and heart dilemma going on whether to start with him or Slowik. Heart says Doc for derby day experience, head says Slowik but we’ve not really seen him perform as he didn’t get much ball at all last week. Georgiou is a shoe-in for full back.
What about Rotherham? We know they’ve some danger men, none as dangerous as Rieder nor as an entire squad when Yorkshire pride is at stake. But they are on the back of a few losses, big scores have been made against them recently and they looked poor against Worcester last week. We’re catching them when their confidence must be low so let’s hope we can capitalise on it.
It may to be our last visit to Clifton Lane which, I think, is a cracking little venue, so I’ll partaking of pie and peas with lashings of gravy before I take my place to watch a match full of tries and a narrow Yorkshire Carnegie win (but not so narrow to give away a losing BP).

COME ON LEEDS.
We've been through it all together.
Walker must start as the best 2 in the club. The other shirts are up for grabs imho. Pilgrim relished the competition last weekend and put in a good performance. We now need Leonard to do the same. Feed the back three and we will reap the rewards.
Lots of our old boys looking to get revenge this weekend. We need everyone to step up to the plate.

We need a win- can't bear losing to Roth again

Going to be a long summer as those play offs are just a pipe dream.
