Back to business

After a couple of weeks off whilst the B&I cup got started, this weekend we are  back to the main event - The Champonship. After the narrow defat at Bedford Yorkshire Carnegie will be wanting to get back to winning ways on Friday night. The visitors are London Welsh. The other thing of note is that 27th Nov will mark the league debut of our new stand-off. Step forward Kevin Sinfield.....

It does not seem very long since the Rhinos achieved the treble and Kev retired from the 13 man game. Since then he has immersed himself in the world of proper scrums, lineouts and mauls. Two weeks ago he got 15 minutes at the end of the B&I game at Headingley and last weekend started against Munster.

Defeat at Kinsale means that we have lost 2 of our last 3 games (remember Bedford). Friday's opponents, London Welsh, have, over the last few years, developed a nasty habit of peeing on our bonfire and will be no pushovers despite their mediocre start to the season.

Brush has adopted a policy of player rotation this season. The knock on effect of this is to make his team selection impossible to second guess. The other factor is the ever increasing number of fit players who are available for selection. i expect the lineup to be  close to the strongest available. Key men were rested last weekend.

The uncertain elements for Friday night are the weather, which could be wet and windy and the crowd. Kev could put a thousand on the gate. As for the weather I am hoping that the lads whip up a storm of their own and send the Exiles home with nothing.
