The squad recorded it's fourth consecutive win on Sunday against a London Scottish side that has yet to start playing this season. The bonus point win has left us in second place in the league table between leaders London Irish and third placed Cornish Pirates. So is everybody happy?....
Well of course not! If I was the defence coach at HC I would not be happy allowing the visitors to score four tries and leave LS6 with a bonus point that they did not deserve..
That apart we could not really expect much more than we have already achieved. As the league table shows.....

....we are sitting in second place behind early pace setters, and promotion favourites, London Irish with the resurgent Pirates tucked in third place as the league's early surprise form-team. Despite our poor defence we have scored most points in the Championship so far. By my reckoning we are conceding 22 points per game. I would imagine that this statistic does not sit well with our coaching team.
This coming weekend we meet our first opponents from the top half of the table when we visit Clifton Lane to play sixth placed Rotherham. During the summer their coach, Justin Burnell, signed 20 new players for the club. To their credit they have played 4 and won 2. It takes more than 4 games for a group of new players to gel properly so I am quite happy that we are meeting them this early in the campaign as I am sure that they will only get better as the season progresses.
We appear to have gotten a few more players fit and the late injury to Mayhew meant that Saull and Walker got included in the squad against the Exiles. One pleasing aspect of the first four games is the developing halfback partnership between Davies at 9 and Ford at 10. We need a settled pairing behind the scrum and these two appear to be forming exactly that. I would also like to see our two most incisive backs playing at the same time. McColl and Holmes will surely profit from the improving form of Joe Ford.
Bryan Redpath has plenty of options this week and I think he will not be able to resist further tinkering with his selection of the team (as is his perogative). The weather is forecast to be showery with sunny intervals and a light south westerly breeze. Whatever the conditions Roth will be up for another derby game and will want to put one over on us. Becuase of this I think the game will be a lot closer than I would like but I am still taking us to win by two scores. I will be over the moon if we manage to stop Roth crossing the whitewash but will be happy nonetheless with any kind of win.

From what i've seen Rotherham can create quite a bit in attack but have a fairly porous defence.
Hope the same happens on Saturday!

They have posters. Outside the ground. Hey there's an idea! We should have thought of that.
Seems to be a lack of co-ordination here, as surely some Titans fans also support the Millers? And it won't help with parking.
I suppose that after last season's clash with the Rotherham show at Clifton Park, this is nothing to worry about.
