Leicester Tigers today thanked the hundreds of supporters who had pledged to return their tickets for the Heineken Cup quarter final against Munster on April 13.

The club was 147 tickets short of the 4,000 that ERC demanded should be made available to Munster, after receiving an ultimatum that the match could be moved away from Welford Road if Tigers did not comply.

Managing Director David Clayton was delighted with the response. "We have received pledges from nearly a thousand of our supporters, and we will be writing personally to thank every one of them," he said.

"We only needed 147 tickets back, so we are returning the remainder. The incredible response took us by surprise, and once again shows the magnificent support that there is for Tigers.

"Needless to say, all of us in the marquee will make sure we have just as good a time as those in the stadium. Dean and the players will be coming in after the game to thank everyone who has helped keep this fixture at its rightful venue."
