The 2013 Britiish and Irish Lions Tour to Australia is nearly upon us. Here's how you can watch and listen to Warren Gatland's men Down Under
Television
Sky Sports has exclusive TV broadcast rights to all matches so we all have to endure (or enjoy) the usual hyperbole, Stuart Barnes and endless fawning over Paul O'Connell and Munster.
All games will be broadcast in full with Miles Harrison the main commentator, and regular anchorman Alex Payne will be ably assisted by the usual Sky Sports suspects Messrs Barnes, Morris, Greenwood, Quinnell et al.
National Radio
TalkSport's owner UTV has exclusive rights to full audio commentary and will cover all 10 games from the Barbarians match in Hong Kong to the final Test in Sydney
Brian Moore and David Campese will be the summarisers and will, no doubt, undertake some verbal sparring in the commentary box.
TalkSport broadcasts on DAB, 1053 & 1089 Medium Wave, Digital TV and online.
Swansea Sound
Another in the UTV stable is Swansea Sound based in, predictably, Swansea and the station serving south west Wales on 1170 Medium Wave and DAB also has full commentary online of the three Test matches.
Why listen to Swansea Sound over Sky and TAlkSport? Well, the coverage will come in the shape of former Saracens, Wales and Lions no8 Michael Owen as summariser, and regular Saracens commentator Jason Harris describing the play-by-play action. Easy, get an iPhone and put the TV apps on it, turn the volume down or plus in headphones. As long as you don't drive for a living, sorted. Otherwise timeshift with a digital recorder box attached to your TV maybe ?
Far better than watching it at home.
