END OF SEASON POLL 2013-14 Part 2

So to Part 2 of this year's Poll - The Dream Team! The official Aviva Premiership Nominee is in brackets at the start of each position. Who did you select in your Premiership Team of the season and how did it compare with the Official Aviva Premiership Team? Inevitably there were more Saracens Players in your team than the official one – I wonder which would win?
15. (Mike Brown) there were a couple of votes for this year’s Player of the season but most of the votes went to 2 other full backs who both had superb seasons. Chris Pennell received a lot of support but your choice at full back is Saracens’ own ALEX GOODE
14. (Semesa Rokoduguni). No one went with Roko. George North received a bit of support as did Marlon Yarde and Saracens’ Nathan Earle but the outright winner was again a Saracens’ player CHRIS ASHTON
13. (Luther Burrell). Interestingly Burrell received all his support at inside centre. Veroniki Goneva was nominated several times along with our own Marcelo Bosch but the clear winner was MANU TUILAGI
12. (Kyle Eastmond). Again there was no support for the official selection (maybe after his exploits down under). Your votes were pretty evenly split between Luther Burrell and Saracens’ Brad Barritt but after a recount, the selection at inside centre was BRAD BARRITT
11. (Veroniki Goneva) interesting how Sarries fans often went for the same guys but in different positions and Goneva was very much seen as a centre. With the exception of George North, though, this one was a shoe-in for Saracens’ one and only DAVID STRETTLE
10. (Stephen Myler). Perhaps surprisingly, given the season he had, no one chose Myler. The votes were split 3 ways between George Ford, Danny Cipriani and our own Fazlet. It was a close call but in the end your selection at Fly Half is OWEN FARRELL
9. (Danny Care). Ben Spencer, Richard Wigglesworth & Neil de Kock all got a mention but really this one was no contest and for once you agreed with the official choice so our scrum half is indeed DANNY CARE
1. (Joe Marler). Quite a selection of names for our loosehead. A couple of votes for Marler along with Alex Waller, Richard Barrington, Marcus Ayerza and Logovi’i Mulipola (who was seen in the official poll as more of a tighthead). But the winner is again a home grown talent, our Loosehead prop is MAKO VUNIPOLA
2. (Dave Ward). All but one of you went for the same player. The other nominee was Rob Weber but the almost unanimous choice was Saracens SCHALK BRITS
3. (Logovi’i Muliopla) Lots of suggestions at tight head including some support for Mulipola. Other choices were James Johnston, David Wilson & Henry Thomas but the man who attracted most support at tight head was DAN COLE
4. (Samu Manoa) No votes for Samu but lots of suggestions here. Sarries’ former Captain Steve Borthwick and new captain Alastair Hargreaves attracted support as did young superstar Maro Itoje. Courtney Lawes & Michael Paterson were nominated but the vote was split between Ed Slater and your choice at lock JOE LAUNCHBURY.
5. (Michael Paterson) George Kruis and Geoff Parling attracted a few votes. Perhaps if we’d combined all Mike Paterson’s votes for the 4 & 5 shirt he would have won! However that vote was split as it was for Courtney Lawes and the winner was our very own STEVE BORTHWICK
6. (Dan Braid). Yet another Sale Sharks official winner. This was the tightest call of the lot. Chris Robshaw & Jacques Burger (both probably more familiar at 7) received a few votes along with George Kruis but there was a 3 way split between Francois Louw, Dan Braid and our official winner, Scotland captain KELLY BROWN
7. (Jacques Burger). How could anyone disagree with the legendary Jacques but a couple of people did! Tom Wood & Will Fraser were mentioned but overwhelmingly the winner is our very own Superhero JACQUES BURGER
8. (Billy Vunipola). Just a couple of dissenting voices for the versatile Samu Manoa and Ed Slater but otherwise the voting was almost unanimous for BILLY VUNIPOLA
So here is our selection:
15. Alex Goode, 14. Chris Ashton, 13. Manu Tulagi, 12. Brad Barritt, 11. David Strettle, 10. Owen Farrell, 9. Danny Care. 1. Mako Vunipola, 2. Schalk Brits, 3. Dan Cole 4. Joe Launchbury 5. Steve Borthwick 6. Kelly Brown 7. Jacques Burger 8. Billy Vunipola.
Not a bad side that one! And I have a sneaky feeling it would beat the official Dream Team (although a few players would be a bit tired playing for both sides!)

You also wonder with the 'dream team' whether there was an element of anti-sarries bias in it in the first place
