End of Season Quiz 2014/15

  End of Season Poll   And finally…….here is the end of season poll for 2014/15.   Please send in your nominations to unofish@hotmail.co.uk by Monday 19th July. We can then collate your votes and publish the results later in the summer.   You can submit nominations for some or all of the categories but PLEASE do vote so we get everyone’s opinion and many thanks in advance for taking part.  

PART ONE

1. Saracens Player of the year (2013/14 Alex Goode) not an easy choice this year but who will get the nod? Jamie George? Petrus Du Plessis? Billy Vunipola? George Kruis? Brad Barritt? David Strettle? Chris Ashton? Chris Wyles? Or almost anyone else!

2. Saracens Young Player of the Year (2013/14 Maro Itoje) Again lots of contenders for this one – Maro Itoje perhaps or super boot Ben Spencer or maybe Jamie George? Or someone else

3. Saracens old player of the Year (2013/14 Steve Borthwick) Which of our old men will it be? Charlie Hodgson, Neil de Kock, Petrus Du Plessis or someone else?

4. Aviva Premiership Player of the Year (non Saracens) (2013/14 Chris Pennell) Will it be boy-wonder George Ford or maybe team-mate Jonathan Joseph. How about Thomas Waldrom or Tomas Francis? Or maybe someone else?

5. International Player of the Year (must play outside Aviva Premiership) (2013/14 Julian Savea) Officially Europe’s choice was Nick Abendanon but maybe you have other ideas.

6. Favourite Saracens Player? (2013/14 Marcelo Bosch) Who do you really like to watch week in week out? Brits maybe, Marcelo again after that kick, or someone else?

7. Best performance by an opposition player against Saracens (2013/14 Steffon Armitage) Who was it that made the difference? Abendanon again maybe, or Celebriani in the defeat to Sale; maybe Steenson’s 9 kicks in the loss to Exeter or Christian Wade in the opener against Wasps, James Hook’s last second penalty …..or someone else

8. The Albanese Award for the worst performance by an Opposition Player against Saracens (2013/14 Graham Hughes) Who had an absolute ‘mare against us this season? Maybe it will actually be a player this time! “36” in the home game against Glos perhaps?

9. The Martin Johnson Memorial Least Favourite Opposition Player. (2013/14 Dylan Hartley) Who do you love to hate? Will Dylan Hartley retain the title yet again or will it be someone else?

10. Player you would most like to join Saracens next Season? (2013/14 Joe Launchberry) Forget the salary cap, who would you love to see in Sarries colours?

PART THREE CLUB AWARDS

1. Best performance by a Saracens Team last season? (2013/14 Heineken semi-final win over Clermont Auvergne) Spoilt for choice this year! The team which beat Bath at Wembley, or the semi-final winners against Saints. The win over Racing? How about the LV Cup winning team? Or the Storm A League winners? Or the Saracens Ladies? Or maybe there was another stand-out performance.

2. Worst performance by a Saracens Team last season? (2013/14 loss to Irish at Allianz) Few and far between but there were a couple of shockers. The away defeat to Glos or Sale? The loss to Saints at MK? Or something else?

3. Favourite Club to visit for an away game? (2013/14 Toulouse) Where do you most look forward to going? Toulouse broke the Exeter stranglehold last season, will it be another French club (Clermont) or somewhere else?

4. Least favourite Club to visit for an away game? (2013/14 Northampton) And where do you least like to visit? Will it be a trip up the M1 again or will a couple of wins at the Gardens redeem the Saints?

5. Best Opposition Fans? (2013/14 Toulouse) Who do you most enjoy a bit of banter with? For the past 3 years this has been won by a French team – will that be the case again with our friends from the Auvergne or will it be someone else?

6. Worst opposition Fans?(2013/14 Northampton) And who would you rather avoid? Surely not Saints again?

7. Favourite other AP Team (not Saracens) (2013/14 Wasps) Will Exeter regain the title from Coventry Wasps or will it be someone else?

8. Least favourite other AP Team (2013/14 Northampton) Maybe this year it will be someone else?

9. Best Bar (2013/14 Allianz) Our very own Allianz Park has been the favourite place for a tipple since we moved to Barnet. Is it still your favourite

10. Worst Bar (2013/14 Wembley) Last year Wembley just pipped HQ but where will it be this time?

11. Best Food (2013/14 Allianz) last year it was no place like home but what about this time? I thought the cheese & ham platter at Racing was pretty special but maybe you liked something else

12. Worst Food (2013/14 Millennium Stadium) We didn’t need to go Cardiff this year so presumably it will be a straight fight between HQ & Wembley?

     

PART FOUR Miscellaneous

1. Best Sarries Rugby moment of the Season (2013/14 semi-final win over Clermont) has to be Premiership Champions doesn’t it?

2. Worst Sarries Rugby moment of the season (2013/14 final minute of extra time in the final v Saints) no contest last year but a harder one this time. Maybe it was Stretts or Mobo leaving? Or the loss to Clermont in the euro semis? Or something else

3. Best Sarries individual contribution to a game. Ok I had to invent this one but surely Marcelo’s winning kick in Paris needed recognition somewhere?

4. Funniest Moment of the Season (2013/14 Barnes tackle on Brits) What made you laugh? Perhaps Saints and Sarries both turning up in the same colours at MK? Or something else

5. Best Referee (2013/14 Nigel Owens) Will it be Nige again or will it be another whistle-blower?

6. Worst Referee (2013/14 JP Doyle). Is it still JP who gets your vote are is someone else even worse? There were a few dodgy performances by the men in charge but which was the worst?

7. Best Media Performance by a Rugby celebrity or broadcaster (2013/14 Will Greenwood) Can anyone oust our Will? The lovely Thomas Castaignede maybe?

8. Worst Media Performance by a Rugby celebrity or Broadcaster (2013/14 Stuart Barnes) Still Fatboy and/or Pieman or has someone else irked you?

9. The Michael Gentleman (Samui Man) Contribution to the Saracens Message Board. (2014 Darraghgirl). Behind the Bench will take some beating for all those amazing previews.
