A report in Friday's Times newspaper has said that Wayne Shelford may sue Saracens after his contract was terminated just over a year into a three year deal at Vicarage Road.
The announcement of Shelford's departure was made on Thursday but it is believed that he was told as early as the beginning of June that his services were no longer required at the club.
During the imterim period it is believed that Shelford and Saracens were negotiating a severance package based upon his reported £200,000 a year salary. But it is appartent that an agreement has still not been reached.
Shelford's adviser Jamie Salmon was quoted in the report as saying "Wayne was surprised by the news of his dismissal and the timing. As yet we have been unable to reach a settlement. Negotiations are ongoing."
