Q & A with Chris The Saint

V.R. will be invaded on Sunday by arguably the best travelling support of any team in the Country. Dressed head to toe in Gold, Black and Green and known for their chants that sound something like "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah" come the supporters that follow Northampton Saints.

So in order to find out a little more about the team and fans that hail from the land of Churches shoes, the Welly Road pub crawl and that funny 'lift test' tower thingy, we've put a few questions to Chris the Saint about Northampton’s season so far and his hopes for Sundays game.

The odd game before coming a full timer in 1991.

First Game?

Around 1978 a Saints v Bedford game, I can't even remember who won!

Favorite Player?

A very timely question, Budge Pountney, who has always given it all for the club and summed up what being a Saint is all about.

Best game seen?

Has to be the Tetleys QF against you lot down at Vicarage Road where that last minute dropgoal missed by half a gnats eyebrow.Of course you lot see it differntly ;-)

How has the season gone for you so far?

Calling it a rollercoaster has been somewhat an understatement.

What has been the season highlight so far?

For the thousand or so that travelled to France the win in Agen will live long in the memory but the first double over Tigers was also a bit special.

And the lowest point this season?

Losing at home to Llanelli a week after the Agen game. Back down to earth with a bump.........it's that rollercoaster again.

Which of your players should we keep a look out for on Sunday?

Perhaps the three All Blacks, Bruce Reihana attacking from deep, Andy Blowers being Andy Blowers and Mark (Sharky) Robinson at scrumhalf is a real hand full and a real revelation this season.Young Darren Fox on the openside is one to watch for the future.

Which Sarries player to you think will cause you the most Problems on Sunday?

Thomas Castagneide who I still consider to be the most naturally skillful footballer in the Zurich Premiership. The one player at Sarries i'd like to see in the Gold Black and Green.
