Boom! Shake the room!

Boomer, on hearing that Sir Elton John is to play a benefit gig for Watford FC's reclamation of Vicarage Road after the club lost their shirt in the ITV Digital debacle, burts into song with an homage to The Hornets' most famous fan.

It’s a little bit funny, that rumours abound.
That Elton and his mates want to, buy a Ground.
They don’t have much money but, boy if they did.
They could get Vicarage Road for, a few million quid.

If he was a singer but, then again no.
220 thousand would have to stump up 50 quid, just to see his show.
Well you know Watford’s not much, but it’s the best he can do.
“This pitch is for the Hornets, Sarries; and not for you”

Well you can tell everybody, this is my ground
I don’t like Rugby, honey, I prefer my balls round
I hope you don’t mind,
I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful VR is without you in the world

I sat on the pitch and picked off the moss
Well a few of the groundstaff got me quite cross
I told them this pitch is very wet and quite cold
“Our undersoil heating went off because the fuse box is old”

So excuse me forgetting but these thing I do
I buy a club, I sell a club it gets me confused.
Anyway, the thing is, what I really mean
You Saracens Fez boys are the best I have seen.

Well you can tell everybody, this is my ground
I don’t like Rugby, honey, I prefer my balls round
I hope you don’t mind,
I hope you don’t mind that I put down in words
How wonderful VR is without you in the world
