Diamond on disciplinary charge

Saracens assistant coach Steve Diamond has been summoned to an RFU disciplinary hearing on 22 July following a breach of the Rules while with England A in North America.

The former Sale Sharks player and coach has been charged with conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union and the game, contrary to Rule 5.12 of the RFU for not staying in the technical area during at match at last month's Churchill Cup in Canada, according to a report on the Saracens official website on Friday.

Along with Diamond, Bath and England scrum half Martyn Wood and kit man John Pennycuick will be interrogated by Panel Chairman Jeff Blackett, Peter Budge and Michael White after they too were charged with not staying in the techinical area and also on an additional charge of verbally abusing match officials.
