Treviso marched on, Ulster nudged past leaders Edinburgh and Biarritz came second in an ugly encounter with Stade Francais in this weekend's action involving Saracens' Heineken Cup Pool 4 opponents.

Benetton Treviso sit on top of the Super 10 table in Italy with 14 points from a possible 15 after a hard-fought 18-11 win over Rovigo with their former Roma outside half Marius Goosen scoring all their points.

Ulster hosted table-topping Edinburgh at Ravenhill on Friday evening and David Humphreys was again the major points conttributor with 20 of his side's total of 30 as the 1999 European Champions brushed aside the Scottish side 30-23. Ulster now top the table on 12 points with one more game to play on Sunday - Ospreys v Borders - courtesy of their two wins and an additional four poitns awarded to teams for "bye" weekends.

At Aguilera stadium, a bit of rugby broke out during an 80-minute scrap between Biarritz and their curren arch-nemeses Stade Francais. Inbetween bouts of aggro, there were two sendings off - Haridnordoquy for Biarritz and Arnaud Marchois for Paris - more sin-binnings and three tries.

Stade took the spoils 14-7 with their match-winning score coming from replacement Olivier Sarramea, adding to an earlier effort from Christophe Dominici. The conversions were added by David Skrela and Jerome Fillol while Biarritz's points came courtesy of a try from centre Frederico Martin-Aramburu and conversion from Dimitri Yachvili.

The Basques have slipped three places down the table and now lie fifth, with three wins and two defeats from their five games and a total of 16 points, 7 behind leaders Toulouse who remain unbeaten after scraping home 18-15 at Toulon on Friday night.
