Happy, disappointed or just confused?
New boyos in town

At last some rugby to talk about, although it was not perhaps the easiest game to get to grips with
Nice to see the started of the season is progressing in much the same vein, rolling substitutions, new faces and wholesale confusion courtesy of our friends at London Welsh using squad rather than position numbers. If the crowd were anything to go by this was a master stroke for London Welsh as it certainly confused Bath and perhaps for the first 50 mins London Welsh. Normality returned with the usual go to sleep by Bath for 20 mins.
What you might not have known is that the RFU was also holding a selectors training & assessment day for the South West as they thought it would be ideal for the candidates to stroll round a game with only 500 in the crowd of which 40 would be delegates. Nice to see they got wrong! So confined to watching from the field next door with an extra tall bloke providing details for the tiddlers they made their selections! Fortunately for COML we had a mole who leaked some of that august company’s secret minutes
If that was the best London Welsh had they better get used to the bottom, in selecting the 15 players for their assessment their were only four to five LW players, they guy who started at 15 (position not shirt), the Tongan at centre one of the loose heads and two others, not much info you might say but what do you expect from a mole?
Further info gleaned is that Bath was hopeless at the breakdown not knowing whether to stay in and counter or go back into the line preferring to stand a round.
Banahan made it into the 15 on the grounds that other than the Tongan centre who waltzed round our defence the other centres for both sides looked like they had just been introduced
Curiously they selected Tom H at fly half even though he didn’t last the full half, I suspect on the grounds of being a more recognised player than young Devoto who to my mind look s like a fine prospect
No arguing selection on the wing with Kyle and Biggsy. Is this a departure from having the biggest back three to the smallest in one season?
At this point the door slammed firmly shut on our mole who was forcibly marched in front of the RFU facilitators for a tough one to one five minute grilling on his selections, we fear he is missing in action as the last words heard from our agent were the sandwiches supplied by the club appear to be from last season…

Maybe some spell checks and grammar checks would make the piece intelligible. Otherwise confused I remain.

Alas and alack I am undone by the vagaries of predictive text whilst on the circle line. Abject apologies for the confusion. I look forward to your contribution Oilman.
In the mean time farewell and adieu.

I know it is too soon to tell but does Classy look more at ease than last year as for me he is key?
I did find the prose a little hard to read though.

Thanks Bath Rhino, much appreciated. I like the breakdown/summary at the end.

Thank you, that was the point I was making. However, if a contributor doesn't want a comment then maybe (s)he shouldn't ask for one, when they do then don't expect automatic adulation. After all said and done this forum is full of criticism of all types, isn't that what most do?
