Will the pre-season games feature? IIRC they did last year [or was it the year before?] and that caught a few people out...

No we haven't included the pre season games for a number of years now. It was deemed to be even more of a lottery than the real games! All games will be included in all competitions and WHEN we qualify for the play offs and the final they will be added!

CC, CCould you or someone else pls explain what the total F and A points are? Are they the running total of the player's F/A predictions? If so, it might (if it's possible) be more interesting to replace the GD column (which should possibly be PD?) with the aggregate difference between a player's predicted F/A scores and the actual ones, rather than simply F-A which is pretty meaningless?

This comes up quite often. I believe the league was devised for football so rugby scores may skew the results. I asked last year about this and that we are confused about this and this is the response!

We did try to change it a few years ago but people seemed to ahve got used to the existing system."

So if anyone can work out how it works, do let me know!

I know one or two can get a little down on the team when predicting results on 'ere but I'm sure not even BoB would go for 17 v 114 at home against Sarries on saturday...

Based on my prediction and the actual score this week I think this is how it works...

"A" is the numerical difference between the total points you think would have been scored by both teams and the actual number of points scored.

"F" is the total number of points you thought would be scored minus "A"

"GD" is "F" minus "A"

Anyone else see is if this works for their predictions?

I predicted 23-25 = 48 less (final points diff 4 - my prediction 2) =2 = 46 which is my result! Weird but it works!

Great! Your calculation also clarifies something for me. I predicted a higher total score than actually happened, you a lower score, yet we both have positive F and A. That means whether you predict a higher, or lower score you take the smaller number from the bigger one and always have a positive "A". Only GD can be negative if A is bigger than F.

I predicted 32 to 29 (I know I should have more faith in Bath) = 61
Actual score 23 to 27 = 50
61 - 50 = 11 (my "A" value)
50 - 11 = 39 (my "F" value)
39 - 11 = 28 (my "GD" value)
