Chris Malone Signs For Bath

Bath Rugby announced today that Chris Malone, the former Exeter Chief's fly half, will be joining the club for the 2002 / 2003 season. This is the second player movement to Bath in a week following the transfer of Jonathan Humphreys.

Chris, who stands at 6ft and weighs in at 14st was born in Australia on 8th January 1978. His player honours consist of Australian U21's and he previously played for Sydney University and Manley. Exeter's player of the season, Chris scored 311 points from his 28 appearances for the Chiefs this season, who finished third in the National League one.

Chris told Bath Rugby today: "I am really looking forward to playing for a club with such a proud history. This is a really big challenge for me and I want to be a part of Bath Rugby's return to the top!"

Michael Foley, Bath Rugby's Team Director added: Chris gives a great deal of flexibility in the backs, building depth in that area will create competition throughout the back line. Along with Olly Barkley's development and Mike Catt's ability to play both 10 and 12, this provides us with some exiting options leading into next season. Chris is a noted ball player with an exceptional tactical kicking game that will provide some versatility to the sort of game we can play next season."
