For God's sake Mr Brownsword get rid of the whole of this management set up now, become a sleeping partner and pass on the running of our club to a group of people who know something about rugby because if we are not careful we will become the laughing stock of English rugby!

Glawster V Bath

"Going Down! Going Down! Going Down!" sang The Shed in unison as they enjoyed the total humiliation of Bath Rugby this afternoon and watched their West Country rivals take one step closer to Premiership oblivion. The scenes at this match are akin to those that would have been seen over a century ago in English cricket and spawned the burning of a set of bails from which the Ashes were born. I'd suggest we should burn something to create our own ashes from which a phoenix of Bath Rugby can emerge but I'm worried about what (or who) might be suggested for burning.

We always knew we were going to lose but to concede nine tries and 68 points has placed us in a situation where we now have a worse points difference than Leeds and if they pick up a win in their last two matches we could be relegated - this was Bath Rugby plumbing new depths when most of us thought we had gone as far as we could in the wrong direction.

This was men against boys, and whilst there were quite a few youngsters on show let's not forget that there were also quite a few experienced players amongst them. After reading about Ronnie Regan saying Jonathan Humphreys was going to have to wrest his place away from him next season, the ex-Welsh skipper can hardly have been too worried after this performance. For example Regan had a defensive throw-in to make after jut five minutes in the Bath half and decided that a long throw was the best option. This error of judgement set up the first Glaws try - pathetic! These are the blokes who are supposed to set an example to the likes of Spencer Davey and Sam Cox.

Dan Lyle had another shocker and why Kevin Dalzell was preferred to Gareth Cooper is anyone's guess. Dalzell should be off-loaded now as he is clearly not up to standard. This result set up a record number of points conceded by Bath in the League and a record points difference in favour of opponents. This is humiliating and without doubt the worst time in the modern history of Bath Rugby.
