Surely Not Four Out Of Four?

With the rapidly decreasing squad of backs available to him, coach John Connolly has temporarily recruited former Aussie Rugby League star Tim Brasher. The 33-year-old, who can play at centre or full-back, retired early last year because of a knee injury and went to Widnes in September to visit his former Kangaroo team-mate Julian O'Neill. The Widnes coach Neil Kelly grabbed the opportunity of Brasher's visit and invited him to a training session and was so impressed by his condition that he offered him the possibility of a comeback - and also recommended him to contact Bath. The Aussie mafia strikes again!

Despite the early loss of in-form Brendan Daniel last week to a back injury and Matt Perry and Chris Malone also picking up knocks it is likely that the team that started at Sale will also start at Wasps. Forwards coach, Michael Foley, will have been working hard with his pack this week after they failed to live up to early season plaudits at Sale and whilst they may have survived up north we cannot afford another under-par performance in the scrum and line out. The currents Wasps form does not reflect their ability and if they play like they did in the first half of their opening game against Quins we could struggle to stay in the match.

With the game being shown live on Sky this is a great opportunity to show the rugby world that Bath is a much improved team over the last two seasons. Not only do we need the win but we need to demonstrate our forward power and backline flair and pace to send out a clear message to the rest of the Premiership - "Bath Rugby is back so beware!". However we don't have a great track record of televised matches but given the turn around in form this year perhaps now is the time to set the video and want to play it back when you get back home from the match - and we've not wanted to do that for quite some time!

I reckon Bath will sneak this one by less than ten points.
