Borthwick Can Celebrate in His 100th League Game

At present Leicester have to be as bad as anyone can remember with their home loss to the Saints last week chalking up four straight league defeats, the first time they have lost this number in a row. It's too easy to blame the topsy-turvy league table on the World Cup, instead this could just be another turn of the evolutionary wheel: something we experienced after the retirement of our great players in the mid-90s. 

Leicester's form may be poor at present but it doesn't stop them being the draw of the season with The Rec being sold out. With capacity increased to 9,980 this weekend will see a record crowd in the professional era beating the previous record of 9,381 for the match against Northampton.   

Bath welcome Springbok centre Robbie Fleck at a time when backs are at a premium and his timely arrival should make a real impact. As Jack Rowell told the Bath Chronicle, "We've made a good start to the season and Robbie' Fleck's arrival could not have come at a better time: with his arrival we have put the last piece of the jigsaw in place".

Although it's pouring with rain now and likely to be throughout Friday the weather forecast is good for Saturday. I'm confident of a Bath win, and a good win at that.

As a footnote to last week's game I am of the opinion that Steve Borthwick made the right decision to go for goal at the end, it's just a shame the game-plan didn't come off.
