Fantasy League Update - Week 13

Week thirteen, unlucky for some and certainly Round 13 brought no luck for our boys in blue, black and white. Let’s see whether your team were amongst the lucky ones in the ERE Fantasy League. It’s a double update this week after the Christmas period and the closing of the transfer window.

Transfer instructions were received from 24 managers; the rest of you only have yourselves to blame as you watch your team slip down the table!

THIS WEEK’S PERFORMANCE

Players of the week for round 13 were:
Andy Goode, 17 points (Start, Win, 2P, 2C, and 1DG) thanks to Leicester’s win over Gloucester, and Andrew Blowers, 9 points (Start, Win, and 1T) who featured in the Saints win over the Tykes on New Year’s Day.

Top 5 Scoring Teams (rounds 12 & 13) - points

1 Wherefore the Beast, Bath Fan Jack (Bath) - 221

1 Champagne Rugby, Sam Fulling (Tigers) - 221

3 Wadi Callums, Sheptonite (Bath) -216

4 Dolly Mixtures, Yorkie (Tigers) -213

5 Jacksmen, Ajack (Saints) - 207

In the high scoring top 5 the Tigers are well represented with “Champagne Rugby” and “Dolly Mixtures”, although “Wherefore the Beast” still set the pace as Bath Fan Jack renews his quest to win his own bottle of champagne. Watch out Coochie, “Jacksmen” had a very good few weeks and are gaining ground on “Stade de Coochie”. Oh, the ignominy!

The highest climber over rounds 12 and 13 is “The Doughnut Heads” managed by AJ Smith who have moved up 11 places to a more respectable 53rd.

At the other end of the performance spectrum, special mention must be made of “Up the Boro” managed by Tony (our beloved Sports Ed), who have slid an impressive (or should that be depressive) 12 places into the bottom half of the table, and “New Forest Gateau” managed (or possibly mis-managed) by Mike J, who managed to score only 81 points in the two weeks, a score that was beaten by more than half the table in the first week.

LEAGUE SUMMARY
No change in the top spot, but “Wherefore the Beast” have picked up the chase. BertM’s “Drunken Monkeys” have dropped out of the top 5 over Christmas. Slight shuffling of the bottom 5 but the members remain the same.

In the allegiance mini-league, no change as the Tigers pull away at the top. Closest battle is between Saints and Glaws with just 30 points separating them.
