A23 build on schedule - it's official !

Reports earlier in the week suggested that OrangeArrows may be having problems in completing work on their 2002 contender's chassis because of an engine supply delay by Cosworth. This has since been denied by the team.

According to Autosport, sources for the team have rubbished these reports especially the part about Cosworth failing to delay their engines. The true reason for the delay in the team getting rubber to tarmac is that the financial agreement for the supply of the engines has not been signed yet, meaning that the team are unable to run their chassis. Apparently the agreement should be all done and dusted by the end of January meaning that Arrows can then join the rest of the grid at venues around the world to commence their 2002 preparations.
This source also reveal that Arrows were is possesion of one engine, and that this was enabling the team to achieve it's chassis build targets.

"We've got an engine and everything is totally on schedule - there is no delay," the spokesperson for the team has been quoted as saying. "It is a brand new car and we always intended to start testing with it at the end of January."

This source also confirmed that Arrows did intend to start their running programme using the new A23 chassis and not an interim car.
