Arrows confirm that Frentzen is still talking

The F1 news website formula1.com tackled Arrows today over yesterdays stories that Frentzen 's management had given up on an Arrows drive, sending waves of delight through Jos Verstappen's fans. It would appear however that the stories are not true and that both drivers are still negotiating.

Several English F1 news sources and the Dutch press gave strong indications that Heinz-Harald Frentzen had all but given up on Arrows, because of the high demands being made by the team. These demands are rumoured to include a 'pay off' of some kind in order to release Jos Verstappen from his contract. Verstappen had his 2002 option taken up by the team in June of last year, and his management have always claimed that they are not worried by these Frentzen stories.

Formula1.com managed to talk to someone at Arrows and the sites's conclusion is that these 'bakcing away' stories are speculative, and that Arrows are still in talks with both Frentzen's and Verstappen's management. Frentzen's manager, Monte Field, is also on record recently as stating that his charge does have a chance of a drive with Arrows but nothing was yet confirmed. Unfortunately the Arrows spokesperson was unable to give any idea as to when these talks would reach any kind of conclusion.
