Now that we know the situation regard Jos Verstappen and OrangeArrows, the rumour mill has turned it's eyes to other gaps in the 2002 grid to see if there are any likely opportunities. Toyota has been discounted, but surprisingly Jordan have emerged as a possibility...

This news has it's roots in a piece of message board speculation on Jos Verstappen's official fan site at verstappen.nl .

The writer claims that Jordan team boss Eddie Jordan has become concerned about Takuma Sato's ability to drive the new Honda powered EJ12. In addition there have been raised fitness issues due to Sato complaining of recurring back problems when driving the new car at recent test sessions. Apparently, sources available to the writer have claimed that Jos Verstappen's name has been mentioned as a possible replacement should those concerns force Eddie Jordan into making a driver decision.

Jos Verstappen has already tested for the Jordan team in 2000, and a recent email from Huub Rothengatter to this site has indicated that Jos's management are very busy at the moment. Is it possible that Jos is lining himself up with Jordan ? Could he take a test seat in the interim, just in case, despite Jordan claiming earlier in the year that they wanted Sato to get the most track time opportunities possible ?
