The Dutch broadband internet service provider chello look likely to stay on with the OrangeArrows team as sponsor, despite the announcement that Jos Verstappen will not be racing for the team in 2002. Recent addition Trust, have already confirmed that they will no longer be supporting the team.

This site contacted chello before the announcement was made to see what they knew about the driver situation, and ask whether they had any preference or influence over the final decision.

Spokesperson for chello broadband, Toon Diegenant, replied, "We have no influence over Arrows racing decisions." I have to admit this was not a surprise.

"Much as we sympathise with your concern at Jos's departure from the team, chello's arrangement with Arrows involves us sponsoring the team not individual drivers," Diegenant continued giving a big hint that chello look set to continue with OrangeArrows throughout 2002 despite stories that the internet provider is in financial difficulty. Note that he uses the future tense in his sentence not the past - is this a hint that chello are going to carry on supporting the team ? This site is going to try and get that confirmed !

In typical Dutch style Diegenant finished with words for Jos Verstappen. "We wish Jos all the best in his future career."

I think a good portion of the visitors to this site would raise a glass of something strong to that sentence.
