Arrows maintain their '2nd fastest' record !

The OrangeArrows test team and Heinz-Harald Frentzen were at Silverstone today for the first in a three day shakedown test before shipping out to Australia. Frentzen had a problematical morning, but a better afternoon and still managed to beat both the Jordan cars to 2nd spot on the timesheets.

I managed to sneak away for an hour to see the last hour for lunch. Trackside spectators told me that Heinz-Harald Frentzen had been out for his installation lap at around 11:00, but between then and me arriving at the track he had had to be recovered from under the Hangar straight bridge where he'd ground to a halt. Unfortunately for the last hour before the lunch break the A23 didn't venture back out onto the circuit.

Frentzen must have gotten some track time in during the afternoon because he is recorded as completing 14 laps for the entire day. Despite his problems he was delighted to have still managed to record the second fastest time of the day.

"I have got so many things to do I really do not know what to say," Frentzen has been quoted as saying by Formula1.com at the end of the day. "We have got lots to do before we go away - this is a proper test not a shakedown."

Teammate Enrique Bernoldi will join the team tomorrow.
