Hungarian GP: Atlassian Williams F1 Team Grand Prix Preview

In what is the final race prior to the F1 summer break the Atlassian Williams F1 Team moves to the Hungaroring for the 2026 Hungarian GP. For Alex Albon this race marks his 100th race with the Williams F1 Team. It woud be a great way to see out the first half of the 2026 F1 season with a memorable result for Alex as well as Carlos Sainz and the team. After a series of difficult races the team is hopeful of producing a positive result in Hungary but it will be difficult with the team not expected to bring any sigificant performance related updates to the FW48.
Belgian GP: Race of mixed fortunes for Williams F1 Team

The 2026 Belgian GP would ultimately see Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz finish a disappointing 15th and 16th for the Atlassian Williams F1 Team but it was a race that would see the team having to contend with a mixed set of issues ranging from Carlo having to replace a component in his engine seeing him drop to 19th on the grid only to see his race impacted by damage received in a Turn one incident. Carlos would lose time in his pit stop having to replace a damaged front wing but after that he felt that he had good pace in the later stages of the race. For Alex his race would start well but as the race progressed he would struggle to keep up with other midfield runners. Despite the fact that the team got the most out of their cars during the race it certainly was not enough to see them seriously compete with their midfield competition. The next race is in Hungary in just a weeks time so not a lot can be expected in terms of the team bringing performance to the car.
Belgian GP: Mixed qualifying for Atlassian Williams F1 Team

Qualifying for the 2026 Belgian GP would see the Atlassian Williams F1 Team come away with Carlos Sainz finishing 14th and Alex Albon 16th. For Carlos his result was a step forward over his practice sessions where he had struggled with issues but the team was able to turn things around for qualifying. But for Alex Albon it was very much the opposite as he has being able to perform well in practice but suddenly, after changes to his car between FP3 and qualifying, would find his qualifying go badly not making it into Q2 like Carlos. So again the team sees both their drivers starting Sunday's race from outside the top ten making the chances of achieving a points result that much more difficult.
Belgian GP: Difficult Friday for Atlassian Williams F1 Team

In what was a very mixed Friday for the Atlassian Williams F1 Team at the 2026 Belgian GP the team would continue to push forward with the setup of the cars of Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz. For Alex his day was somewhat more successful than his team-mate feeling that his car was marginally better than it had been in Silverstone. He would finish 15th on the day but for Carlos his day would commence with an issue with his car in FP1 that put him behind in terms of his setup work. Things would be a bit better in FP2 but again he felt that the session did not go as well as he had hoped for finishing 16th. For the team there is now a lot of work to do in order to be in the best possible position come qualifying and the race.

The Atlassain Williams F1 Team moves to the famous Spa circuit for the 2026 Belgian GP. After the frustrations of the last few races the team is hoping to recover their season at Spa. Spa puts up many challanges including the well know one of the weather plus the newer one of the fact that Spa is anticipated to be the most energy sensitive circuit the team has encountered so far this year. This will place demands on both Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon in terms of how they manage their races and qualifying. Hopefully the team is able to find a setup that works better than at the previous tracks and that they can come away with a positive result from the weekend.
My British GP and Atlassian Williams F1 Team

Thanks to the generosity of the team members of the Atlassian Williams F1 Team I was luicky enough to get access to the teams garage at the 2026 British GP and was able to take to up close photos of the FW48 as well as having some interesting conversations with some of the nmechanics. Was a great opportuntiy so my thanks have to go out to the team.
Austrian GP: Atlassian Williams F1 Team Grand Prix Preview

After a difficult Barcelona-Catalunya GP the Atlassian Williams F1 Team moves to the Red BUll Ring for the 2026 Austrian GP. For the team this race is another opportunity for them to continue the process of recovery after their poor start to the 2026 season. Little new is expected to appear on the FW48 at the Austrian race but the team has plans to bring performance to their car. For Carls Sainz and Alex Albon this again places pressure of them to extract the most from what has proven to still be a difficult car.
Barcelona GP: Race sees difficult end for Williams F1 Team

After the issues that the Williams F1 Team had suffered across practice and qualifying with the performance of their FW48 the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya GP race would prove to be no better. Carlos Sainz would manage to finish 12th but had no realistic opportunty to finish in the points while Alex Albon would be not classified as a finisher finishing several laps behind the leader after having to make a lengthy pit stop to have an issue with a camera repaired. After that the remaining laps of the race became very much a test session. Overall it was a very tough weekend for the team as they continue to try to develop the troublesome FW48 by taking more weight off the car and bringing developments to it.
Barcelona GP: Atlassian Williams F1 struggle in qualifying

After a difficult set of practice sessions for the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya GP the Atlassian Williams F1 Team would see their lack of performance continue in the qualifying session. It was very much another difficult session with Carlos Sainz finishing 16th and Alex Albon 18th after having not made it past Q1. Both drivers were able to do their best in terms of getting their performances from the difficult FW48. Alex continued to fall behind Carlos something that the team needs to figure out the reasons for. Unfortunately the issues that the team and drivers have being suffering were somehting that the team was aware of. Sundays race is going to be a difficult time for the team with any prospect for points being very limited.
Barcelona GP: Messy Friday for Williams F1 Team

Friday practice for the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya GP was a day where the Atlassian Williams F1 Team would have to contend with several issues the first of these been the total lack of running by Academy driver Luke Browning in FP1. Luke was meant to run in the session replacing Alex Abon but due to an electrical issue he would not complete a single lap. Such a disappointing way to see the team start the weekend. Then in FP2 with the return of Alex both he and Carlos sainz would struggle with a car that was again showing its shortcomings on the Barcelona circuit. It was so tough for Alex that at one stage he asked to pit to try and sort out his lack of performance. By the end of FP2 we would only see Carlos 14th and Alex 19th. Overall a very messy day for the team which hopefully they can sort out overnight and come back with a better Saturday.
