Williams 2018 season launch just a day away

Tomorrow, 15th February, will see the Williams Martini team launch their 2018 season at an event in London.

As to whether this will be a launch of the teams 2018 challenger the FW41 or simply a launch of the 2018 livery seems to be a point of discussion with various F1 web sites having it as a launch of the FW41 while formula1.com has it only as a launch of the 2018 livery.

There has been little if any information coming out in regard to the new car apart from comments sometime back from Paddy Lowe saying that it will be a substantial change from their 2017 car. This will be the first Williams where Lowe has had a major influence in its design.

2018 signing Sergey Sirotkin said: "I have seen the new car in the wind tunnel and I can say that it looks cool -- much more aggressive. The simulator and other indicators confirm that a tangible step forward has been made."

But in the lead-up to the launch there has been a lot of speculation in regard to delays in process of getting the FW41 ready in particular the FIA crash tests, Reports from the Italian press stated that the FW41 had suffered problems with their FIA crash test. Such were the delays the speculation went on to say that the Williams team would be forced to use their 2017 car for the first week of testing which starts on the 26th February as they are behind schedule in getting the 2018 car ready.

But it would seem that these reports are not accurate with the team being reported as been ready for the first official test.
