Team Summary:
Both Williams cars would complete their installation lap using the soft
tyre. As for the other drivers they were n a mix of tyres with medium and
soft been used. Only one driver was on the ultrasoft tyre. Times were quite
slow with a 1m:38.765 been set with fifteen minutes completed in the
session. Both Williams drivers would take to the track remaining on the soft
tyre as a new quickest time of 1m:37.539 was set. More drivers were out on
the track with Bottas setting a 1m:36.587 running on the soft tyre. Hamilton
was now quickest with a 1m:35.218 while the Williams pair were slowest.
With half an hour completed Hamilton was fastest from Bottas, Verstappen,
Vettel, Ricciardo, Raikkonen, Grosjean, Magnussen, Perez, and Sainz in
tenth. Sergey and Lance were now sixteenth and twentieth. Hamilton's new
quickest time was a 1m:34.962 followed now by Bottas, Ricciardo, Verstappen,
Vettel, Raikkonen, Ocon, Grosjean, Sainz and Magnussen. Times continued to
fall with Hamilton setting a 1m:33.999 followed by Ricciardo and Bottas. For
Williams their drivers were in thirteenth and sixteenth after their next
runs. They would drop to fifteenth and twentieth with fifteen minutes of the
session remaining.
The Williams drivers were back out for another run splitting their tyre
assessment with one on the soft tyre and the other the medium. Given that
they were running on used tyre there was little prospect for improvement as
the session drew to a close. Raikkonen was now second behind Hamilton but
had used the ultrasoft tyre. The session would end with the Williams team
completing their longer runs with neither driver having used the ultrasoft
tyre. They would remain in their fifteenth and twentieth positions while at
the front Hamilton remained quickest from Raikkonen, Bottas, Ricciardo,
Verstappen, Vettel, Magnussen, Sainz, Grosjean, and Hulkenberg tenth.
Lance Stroll:
Lance would join his team-mate also on the soft tyre but would would set a
1m:42.648 prior to pitting. On his return Lance would set a slow 1m:40.557.
Lance was down in twentieth with a 1m:39.642. He would improve with a
1m:38.651 but remained slowest. Lance would continue his run on the soft
tyre but would pit having completed thirteen laps. Lance would join his
team-mate for his second run. A 1m:37.277 would see Lance now sixteenth but
he was 0.5 behind his team-mate. Lance was now running on the medium tyre
for his second run. He would pit after six laps currently eighteenth behind
the Sauber's. This would become nineteenth and then twentieth and slowest.
Lance was back out still on the medium tyre and with the end of the session
would complete fourteen laps on this tyre.
Sergey
Sirotkin:
Sergey would be the first Williams driver to take to the track using the
soft tyre. Sergey's first timed lap would be a 1m:41.068 but he would
improve with a 1m:40.250 to be seventeenth. A 1m:39.612 would see Sergey
nineteenth. But he would set a 1m:37.980 to be fourteenth dropping to
sixteenth. Sergey would pit having completed ten laps. With forty minutes
remaining Sergey would come back out again on the soft tyre. He would set a
1m:36.691 to improve into ninth. He would drop to tenth then thirteenth.
After a nine lap run he would pit from his second run. Sergey would drop to
fifteenth while in his pit. After a short stop Sergey would return remaining
on used soft tyres for this run. But he would pit after a single lap. He
would return shortly after to continue his run completing twenty laps with
the end of the session. |
