Azerbaijan GP: Mixed FP3 for Williams Martini

Team Summary:
With the start of the final practice session the ultrasoft tyre was the tyre that most drivers would start the session on. All those who had come out went straight back into the pits. After several runs the early quickest time would come from Vettel with a 1m:44.758 running on the ultrasoft tyres. With fifteen minutes of the session completed we had yet to see either Williams driver come out. At the front Raikkonen was now quickest with a 1m:43.877 but Vettel would move ahead with a 1m:43.642. Hamilton was now third followed by Verstappen and Ricciardo.

Vettel was still quickest with a 1m:43.176 followed by Raikkonen, Perez Verstappen, Hamilton, Lance, Ocon, Bottas, Magnussen and Sergey now tenth. Bottas and Hamilton would move up to second and third seeing Lance drop to seventh. But Raikkonen would move back into second while Vettel would set a quicker 1m:43.091 with fifteen minutes remaining. The Williams drivers were now seventh and tenth. Hamilton was now in third behind Raikkonen but he would continue to improve to be second with a 1m:43.452. With ten minutes remaining both Williams cars were back out. But it would be red flagged when Sergey would crash his Williams at Turn three. The session would restart with only three minutes remaining. There was a queue at the end of the pit lane waiting for the session to restart. Verstappen would move up to fourth. With the end of the session lance and Sergey would be eighth and tenth which again was such a change from their Friday form.

Lance Stroll:
Lance would be the first out running on the ultrasoft tyre. His first flying lap would see him set a 1m:44.123 to be fifth. Lance would say "I'm really losing the rear towards the end of the lap." After a quick three lap run Lance would pit. Lance would run slowly back to the pitlane after a minor off. It would appear that he was also having a cooling issue. Despite not been happy with his car Lance had set an impressive time. He would return and complete just another lap prior to pitting again. Lance was still in his pit with twenty five minutes remaining now in sixth. He would drop to seventh as Bottas went quicker. He would return to the track with ten minutes remaining currently eighth. Lance would join the rush of cars coming out in the final minutes. He would get only one timed lap before the end of the session. Lance would not improve his time with the end of the session seeing him pit.

Sergey Sirotkin:
With forty minutes of the session remaining Sergey had yet to come out. But he would also come out running on the ultrasoft tyre. His first lap would see him set a 1m:46.295 to currently be 14th. He was able to improve with a 1m:44.534 to be seventh dropping to ninth. Sergey would drop to tenth as others moved ahead. Sergey would pit after a seven lap run showing that he was running with a reasonable amount of fuel. For Sergey he would also come back out but it would go all wrong at Turn three when he would lock up his right front and go into the wall. Sergey would apologise to the team for his mistake. His car had extensive damage to the right front. Now it was down to his mechanics getting his car repaired in time for qualifying.
