Team Summary:
Both Williams drivers would complete their installation laps using the
ultrasoft tyre. With eight minutes completed only the Ferrari drivers were
on the track both on the hypersoft tyre. Raikkonen would set a 1m:40.012 to
set the quickest time. Vettel would move ahead with a 1m:40.008 while
Hulkenberg would be the next out running on the soft tyre. More drivers
would start to return to the track including Bottas and Hamilton both on the
soft tyre. Bottas was now third followed by Lance and Hulkenberg. Hartley
using the hypersoft tyre was now third with forty minutes remaining. Both
Ferrari's were back in their pits as Bottas and Hamilton moved up to third
and fourth.
Ocon and Grosjean were now in third and fourth both on the hypersoft tyre.
The Williams drivers were now in 14th and 16th while at the front Gasly was
sixth using the hypersoft tyre. Perez and Alonso would move into fifth and
sixth also using the hypersoft tyre. The Williams drivers would continue to
fall down the times now been 18th and 19th but with Verstappen yet to set a
time. The top ten was now Vettel, Raikkonen, Ocon, Perez, Alonso, Bottas,
Grosjean, Gasly, Vandoorne, and Magnussen tenth. Vettel was back out again
on the hypersoft tyre and would set a 1m:38.054. Ricciardo was now seventh
running on the soft tyre. Verstappen using the soft tyre would set a
1m:40.826 to now be third and this would see the Williams drivers again
slowest. Both Mercedes were out on the hypersoft tyre run with seventeen
minutes remaining. Hamilton would move into third and Bottas fourth.
Fifteen minutes remaining and Vettel was leading comfortably over Raikkonen,
Hamilton, Bottas, Verstappen, Ocon, Perez, Alonso, Ricciardo, and Grosjean
tenth. Neither Red Bull had done a hypersoft tyre run. Grosjean and
Magnussen were now fifth and sixth after runs on the hypersoft tyre. Neither
Renault had set a time except for one the soft tyre. Ocon would split the
two Hass cars going sixth. Alonso was seventh pushing Magnussen into eighth.
Gasly was ninth and Vandoorne tenth. Hamilton continued to improve his time
but remained in third. Both Mercedes had pitted as Sainz went ninth. On the
hypersoft tyre Verstappen went fifth but Ricciardo would take this spot with
Verstappen now sixth. Hulkenberg would move up to tenth after a hypersoft
tyre run.
So after their qualifying simulations the Williams drivers were now 18th and
20th. The top ten were Vettel, Raikkonen, Hamilton, Bottas, Ricciardo,
Verstappen, Grosjean, Ocon, Perez and Alonso in tenth. For the Williams team
this session did not see any real improvement remaining at the bottom of the
times. The gap between the two Williams drivers were three tenths with
Sergey leading in the session.
Lance Stroll:
Lance would join his team-mate also on the ultrasoft tyre also pitting after
a single lap. Lance would return with forty seven laps remaining using the
hypersoft tyre. Lance would set a 1m:43.342 to currently be third. He would
drop down to fifth and then down to eighth and then quickly to 14th. Lance
continued to do a longer run on the hypersoft tyre. With thirty two minutes
remaining Lance was now 18th. Lance had pitted and with under thirty minutes
remaining he would return but would would pit again after a single lap. With
six minutes remaining Lance would return on a new set of hypersoft tyres.
Lance would set a 1m:42.220 to now be 18th. Lance would drop to 20th with
the end of the session.
Sergey Sirotkin:
Sergey would be first out for Williams in the final practice session running
on the ultrasoft tyre. He would pit after a single lap. Sergey would be
amongst the next group of drivers coming out running on the hypersoft tyre.
Sergey would set a 1m:43.825 to currently be seventh then ninth. As others
went quicker he would drop to 11th. This would become 16th as the session
progressed. Sergey was also doing an extended run on the hypersoft tyre.
Sergey would drop to 19th even though he had set a 1m:43.387. Sergey had
also pitted and would return on another set of hypersoft tyre. Sergey would
fail to improve pitting after a six lap run. Sergey would follow his
team-mate out also on a set of new hypersoft tyres. Sergey would set a
1m:41.884 to now be 17th after having a moment earlier locking his right
front. This would become 18th as Hulkenberg went quicker and the session
came to a close |
