Team Summary:
Kvyat would set a 1m:33.398 to be quickest. He would lower this with a
1m:32.744 as both Renault's came out with the Williams of Kubica also
running. Hulkenberg would go second while Ricciardo would go quickest with a
1m:32.690 followed by Kvyat and Hulkenberg. Hulkenberg would improve to be
quickest with a 1m:32.417. Both Renault's were on the soft tyre along with
every other driver running. Norris was now second now followed by Gasly.
Bottas would set a 1m:31.383 to now be quickest from Hulkenberg. Hamilton
would go second but Leclerc would take this spot with Hamilton third and
Vettel fourth. Leclerc was able to set a 1m:31.118 to be quickest from
Bottas and now Vettel.
Verstappen was now fifth followed by Hulkenberg, Norris, Albon, Gasly and
Ricciardo tenth. It was now Hamilton's turn to go fastest with a 1m:31.108.
But Bottas would respond with a 1m:30.853 followed by Hamilton, Leclerc,
Vettel, Verstappen, Hulkenberg, Norris, Sainz, Albon, and Gasly tenth.
Ricciardo was able to move up to sixth one place ahead of his team-mate.
With under twenty minutes remaining the track was quite empty as drivers
prepared for their qualification simulations. Bottas was out setting a
1m:30.159 to improve his quickest time. Hamilton was also back out joined by
both Ferrari's. Hamilton would set a 1m:30.200 but remained second with
Leclerc remaining in third. Vettel was still fourth with Verstappen fifth
followed now by Gasly, Norris, Ricciardo, Sainz, and Raikkonen tenth. For
Williams the pair of drivers would finish slowest with the biggest issue
been the fact that George would not getting any running as a result of his
engine issue. Qualifying is going to be a difficult time for Williams and
even more so for George given that he has only had one session of running
in the car.
Robert Kubica:
Robert would be first out for the Williams team in the final Saturday
practice session running on the soft tyre. Robert would complete a slow
first lap but his second was a 1m:35.852 to go fastest if ever so briefly.
He would improve with a 1m:35.345. Robert would pit after a five lap run.
With thirty five minutes remaining Robert was back out on new soft tyres.
Robert would set a 1m:34.439 to be just 0.1 behind Perez. This would change
with the gap to the Haas pair in front would open out to be 0.796. Robert
would pit after a six lap run. Thirteen minutes remaining and Robert was
back out on a new set of soft tyres for his qualifying run. He would be able
to set a 1m:33.902 to improve his time but not his position. Robert would
pit after a six lap run ending his session.
George Russell:
Fifteen minutes in to the session and George would come out for his first
run using the soft tyre. Like Robert he would complete a slow first lap anfd
would set a 1m:39.987 but would report a power issue and was told to pit.
George would pit after a two lap run. It was not good news for George as
Mercedes personnel looked at his engine issue. But the issue would be
quickly resolved and he would be ready to return to the track. With twenty
five minutes remaining George would return running on the soft tyre. But he
would again complain of no power in the lower gears so his issue still had
not been resolved. He would again pit with the team looking to resolve his
issue. |
