Team Summary:
With the start of the second Friday practice session both Williams drivers
would come out early with both on the soft tyre. George would go fastest but
Magnussen would move ahead with a 1m:43.144 but Perez on the soft tyre would
set a 1m:41.406 to go quickest. On the medium tyre Hamilton would go
quickest with a 1m:40.685 from Perez and Vettel. Only the Williams and
Racing Point cars were on the soft tyre. On the medium Bottas would go third
while the Williams drivers were 13th and 18th. Hamilton had improved with a
1m:40.405 with Bottas going second. The Williams pair were now 17th and
18th.
Hamilton would set a 1m:39991 to improve his quickest time while Verstappen
was now second followed by Leclerc and Bottas. Verstappen was on the hard
tyre and Leclerc the medium. With just over an hour remaining the track
would empty as drivers completed their first runs. Both Williams drivers
would return for a further run on the soft tyre. After their first laps the
Williams drivers were 7th and 14th. Drivers started to return but this time
on the soft tyre as Albon set a 1m:39.943 to go quickest. But his team-mate
Verstappen would go quickest with a 1m:38.957. Hamilton would move ahead
with a 1m:38.773 followed by Verstappen, Bottas, Albon, Sainz, and
Hulkenberg sixth. Everyone was on the soft tyre with forty minutes
remaining. Leclerc and Vettel were fifth and sixth.
With thirty five minutes
remaining and both Williams drivers would return for a further run on the
soft tyre. The Williams drivers would remain 18th and 20th as they pitted
and would return on a split tyre evaluation with one on the hard tyre and
the other the medium. Other drivers were on longer runs with the majority
focusing on the soft tyre. Both Williams drivers were on longer runs on
their respective tyres. With the end of the session it would be Hamilton
fastest from Verstappen, Vettel, Bottas, Albon, Leclerc, Sainz, Hulkenberg,
Norris and Gasly tenth.
Robert Kubica:
Robert would also come out on the soft tyre for his first run setting a
1m:43.905, to be 0.6 behind his team-mate. This would extend out to 0.7 as
George went quicker. Robert had improved with a 1m:43.426 to now be 0.248
behind his team-mate. Robert would also pit but after eight laps on the soft
tyre. Robert would return on a new set of soft tyres. he would set a
1m:42.177 to be 14th but would drop down the order to be 19th. He would also
pit after six laps. IN the pits he would drop to twentieth. After a short
stop Robert would return again on the soft tyre. He would pit after a four
lap run having failed to improve. He would return running on the medium tyre
as the Williams team split their tyre evaluations. With the end of the
session Robert would complete sixteen laps.
George Russell:
With the start of the second Friday practice session George would take to
the track running on the soft tyre setting a 1m:43.229 to be 0.7 faster than
he was in FP1 on the medium. George would drop down the order as more
drivers set times. He would improve with a 1m:43.178. George would pit after
an eight lap run. George was also back out on the soft tyre for a second
run. George would set a 1m:41.478 to move up to seventh. He would drop to
eighth then twelfth as more drivers set times. George would pit currently
16th having completed six laps on the soft tyres. George would also return
for a further run on the soft tyre. George would improve with a 1m:41.445
but would remain 18th. George would pit after a four lap run. He would
return on the hard tyre. With the end of the session George would pit having
completed seventeen laps on teh hard tyre. |
